people doing half squats

When ever im in the gym on leg day and see these douch bags with 450lbs on the bar doing squats and only going down a lil bit it pisses me off. your not that strong dont be trying to show off. fucking get your form right then come talk to me about weight. i can do like 350 for reps on squat but i make sure im digging deep. and when i see these little insigniCUNT punks and people staring at them it pisses me off.

Has anyone ever tried to tell someone there form is wrong. i always want to do it like help people out but you know how some people will look at help as criticism and flip out

I try not to bother with it, lest I drive myself crazy...you see bad form all over the gym, everywhere...

I'm with go Yankees. After seeing it for so long, you just kind of give up on caring about it.

I always do A2G, I dont help anyone unless they ask for it.

What they do is their business, unless I spot someone about to seriously injure themselves, then and only then would I offer assistance.

I go there to train, I don’t focus on anyone else.

yeah...you have to be careful with the people who compare weights...either they're competitive powerlifters (.05 of the people you're referring to) or just want to feel they have a leg up on you (no pun intended)

Yea, sometimes it pisses me off. There are only 2 or 3 guys at my gym that even do squats and they are older guys lifting 80-100 more than I am. The thing is, I'm struggling to keep good form and get my ass to my ankles for 12 reps and these guys do little mini squats. Then they wrap their knees in ace bandaces, but dont pin them so as they walk around it starts to unwrap and they have this little trail coming from their knees. I just want to step on it and then act like it was an accident.

the proof is in the pudding, the proof is in the pudding...wait till you have a show coming up and start dieting, or bulk for a couple months and come in with monster wheels...show those to your half-squat clan

yeah ive seen that before. I just started going deep in squats these past 6 months, before i used to go parallel.

Ive seen punks with alot of weight or not even just going half way. No wonder they never get results.

Just think of the stupid look on his face when eventually you're doing squats ass to heal with that much weight and he's still doing his little sissy 6 inch squats with the same amount of weight. What's his excuse going to be then? You won't even have to say a word, he'll see you doing it and probably quit.

Don't let it bother you so much. Anyone who knows anything knows how to squat right so why care what the peons think of you. Really you shouldn't care at all. I say let them do it wrong thats just one more person im bigger than.

Which is why box is MUCH better for you....You build more strength from it....I've done both, but primarily I do box squats....

What are some good ways to tell that you are going down deep enough? I just started doing squats not too long ago. I'm pretty sure that I am going down enough because I'm not even doing much weight and it hurts like hell, but I just want to be sure.

Top of the quads parallel to the ground. The lower the better though IMO.

I dont understand how you can make a statement like that. If you do a squat correcty, you are doing as much as a box squat and more. Personally I live by deep squats and I KNOW that box squats are not better than that.

BOX squats will build the strength....Look it up....Never said regular squats are no good, but BOX is better for strength....I also speak from experience, my numbers don't lie....But if that works for you, then great....You also have to make sure the BOX makes you go parallel...

I understand what you are saying there, but if you can do the same thing without a chair or a box, how is that better than doing it with the support?

Box squats are good. Best for strength/powerlifting and for anyone wanting to add variety to routine. I wouldnt say they are so great or the best for bbld'ers. I dont feel like explaining it but you work the muscles around the hips gluts a bit more, doesnt put a lot of size on the legs IMO.

Parallell squats are fine for the average Joe. You guys doing ATG have any knee issues (w8t under 350 fine)? My knees are fine until i do repetitive ATG squats for weeks on end expecially once i get to over 405 my knees bother me (form is righteous). I personally dont feel they are much better anyway. Then i have to take a week off from squats to let my knee heal. I dont feel the bennies out way the negs. Maybe its just me...

Maybe we are talking about things in a different manner. Sounds like Rado was talking about quad strength...? I am talking about leg strength. I could see the difference there.
