week 4: getting into it
now on week 4.. feeling awesome..
squats, leg presses (these seem dangerous) and leg extensions, and deadlifts today squats are awesome! i've added 90 pounds in the past 4 weeks, and feel like there's more coming. leg presses, i tried out just because, these suck, i don't feel in control of the weight at all. won't be doing those again. leg extensions.. wasn't sure what to make of these when i started out, now they're crazy, i like to push the weight up, then see if i can hold it for a 3 count while i breath out. i've gotten up to 180 pounds on this thing, and man does it burn, my thighs feel like balloons that are just about to burst after i get off this thing, having done it last i have the pump from deadlifts and squats, then this is just insano! deadlifts aren't coming along as quickly.. i have grip strength issues.. i have added 40lbs in the past 4 weeks. i'm getting tired of eating a dozen eggs a day, so i bought some syntrax protein powder to supplement my protein habit.. one scoop a day for now, doesn't taste horrible, my wife is snickering at me she said "protein powder is so high school"

i'm all about form, but this leg press machine travels in an arc, it doesn't feel right.. i expect it to travel straight up at the angle, but it arcs... honestly, i don't think it hits anything i don't already hit with a couple other exercises, so i don't think i'll be missing much without it

I know what you are talking about. Our gym has one of those. Does it feel like its arching at an upward angle as you try and go down?? Those arent traditional leg press machines and they feel like shit until you get used to them. Even then they dont feel that good. Not sure what good they are supposed to do, but they are definately harder.

yeah, some weird angled arc thing... it sucked...
i only had 300lbs or so on there, maybe i'll take a bit off and see how it goes with lighter weights..

Yeah its a little easier with lighter weight, but it still feels akward. Almost like its trying to target different muscles than traditional leg press. Glutes maybe??
