injured back?
About 2 weeks agoI was dead lifting with not alot of weight and what seemed to be excellent form. My lower back tightened up real bad after the lift and was suspiciusly sore for almost a week. Today i had squats and on my first working set i felt a sharp twinge in the left side of my lower back. I stopped the squats and went to do some leg presses. I could not go very deep in the reps at all casue of the pain. I finished the workout with some extentions and a few sets of light hack squats. It still fuckinghurts right now and i wanted to see if anyone had any advice or personal experiences with such an injury. Later

yeh plenty over the years, to be honest these days I wouldn't squat and deadlift in the same week and I'm not a squataholic anyway. It can be a number of things but invairiably its now to lifting too heavy, form, or overtraining and the way to deal is to let it heal, work round the excercises for a couple of weeks and start back light. Feed yourself properly, not a good time to carb deplete if you can help it and hydrate properly, then remember to incorporate a stretching routine and work up in weight when you start back. Other than that, like I was saying to promal instinct in his sciatica thread, strengthening your core, particularly lower ab helps
