treadmill cardio
I usually jog outside, at a nice controlled pace. but this new jersey winter is beating up my joints. so i'm gonna start using the treadmill.
my question is, for those of you who use the treadmill, what speed do you guys use, and what incline? |

For fat burning, I like to do a sprint/walk combo. The walk portion is usually around 3.8-4.0 and the sprint I increase. I start at 5.5 and go up .5 each time.

bump I do this too, but I usually do my sprints on an incline and at about 6.5 - 7.0 speed for as long as I can without dying. I hate the deathmill....

i jogged for the first time today. I started at 4.0 for 8 mins. then bumped it up to 6.1 for for 27 mins, for a totla of 35. then back down to 4.0 for 5 mins, and 3.5 for five mins. My heart rate was up around 125 during the 6.1.
i asked what everyone else does, because it seemed like i was going faster inside than out, but i felt pretty much the same afterwards. thanks for the responses girls. |

Outside you have the resistance of the stationary Earth on the treadmill you don't have that so the workout is easier and you will be able to run faster.
