Active Cardio

I just don't understand what I am doing so wrong. I ride a bike to my 'job' in the morning, I am on my feet for 8 hours following kids and running and playing sports with them all day long. I ride my bike home, and then four days a week I am doing serious cardio. Yet I am still a fatty. About the worst thing I do is have 3 pretzel rods a day. Other than that I am eating good protein, veggies, carbs, etc. I don't have a perfect meal schedule because I am on foot most of the day.

its your diet.

you have a naturally slow metabolism and you underfeed yourself, skip meals, and are not consistent. By doing that you are slowing your metabolism down even more.

you weren't blessed with the best genetics so in order for you to achieve your goals you are going to have to dedicate yourself to eating perfectly balanced meals at the right times. if you are not willing to do that than you will never achieve your goal. skipping a meal here and there, having a beer there, eating some pretzels there etc.. that shit will never work for you. you have to make a choice.

Kiev is on a distinguished road
I think something is still not right you would have to post your diet and everything you eat. I have had a starving deit and lost fat but alot of muscle- not good , but I did still get the abs to Pop. How long is the bike trip to and from work ? I practice eating to loose wieght.

Losing weight is a lot easier than gaining muscle. Maybe not getting shredded, but getting in the low double digits should be achievable by just about anyone with some level of diet discipline.

1. Keep track of everything you eat for a week. EVERYTHING. If you have a lapse and eat a cookie or two, write down the nutrition information from the packaging.
2. Enter everything into fitday.com and figure out your daily calorie intake.
3. Use the BMR calculator sticky to calculate your daily caloric needs.
4. Come up with a diet schedule that will enable your intake of calories to be less than your daily needs. Since you are not a plant and cannot manufacture your own food, you will lose weight as long as you have a negative balance of calories. Lower your carbs and increase protein and good fat (almonds, PB, etc.) to ensure that most of what you lose is fat and not muscle.
6. Drink lots of water.
7. Supplement with cardio (sounds like you are doing this already).

i think his issue though is that he is taking in less calories then he is burning. he is losing weight but the fat is not coming off. his problem is genetic and a slow metabolism. his body does not want to let go of that fat. many people that have extra body fat are simply eating more calories then they burn, with chris i am pretty sure this is not the case. his body would rather burn muscle then fat.

I think we've known that for a little while, haven't we? However, its as simple as now I don't have x amount of meals a day. Sometimes I have 3, sometimes 6 or 7. If I can sit down and eat the meal on the dot when I am supposed to, I do. However, that doesn't always happen, so I eat two of my meals at a time because of my schedule. I eat nothing bad except for the pretzels now. The last time I touched that I drank beer was when I had one celebrating my college graduation. For the greater majority of the day I drink water because that is what I have with me and that is what water fountains provide. Occasionally I have Crystal Light Lemonade.

Yesterday I had:

7 egg whites, i omega 3 whole egg, and oatmeal for breakfast @ 8:00am

7 oz of chicken, 2 cups of brocolli, and rice @ Noon

5 oz of chicken, rice, and a banana @ 5:00pm

PWO @ 7:15pm

Steak, asparagus, and potato @ 8:30pm

Bed at 10:30

I drank water all day, but I had a lemonade with dinner.

cant squeeze 2 meals into 1 bro, that is to many cals for the body to use at one time.

also, you need more healthy fats in your diet, by not eating hardly any fat you are telling your body to hold onto its far reserves. sugar at the end of the day is a no no. if you must have the lemonade have it early not at dinner.

I have fish oil I take with 2 meals.

Honestly, you've told me that I can't eat two meals at one time before. Its not that I haven't been listening. There are just priorities I have, and one of them is that my job is more important than the time I eat. That probably sounds terrible, but que sera.

Crystal light doesn't have sugar.

not enough fats. again, by eating such small amounts of fats your body will respond by holding on to fat. need more things like Extra Virgin Olive Oil, natural PB, etc..

I've read everything that's been posted between this post and the one I'm about to make so take that into consideration...

1. Get up earlier and eat your first meal at 7:00 or 7:30

2. Make yourself a protein shake with nothing but whey and water and throw either cashews, almonds, walnuts, peanuts or the like in a plastic bag and eat that around 9:30 or 10:00 (and don't tell me your *job* or volunteer work won't let you either - tell them off if you have to - after all it is volunteer work remember)

3. Repeat #2 in the middle of your afternoon as well...

Everything else could stay the same if you want it to although I would just eat 6oz of chicken at every meal instead of 7 and 5 ( ) - as for your first meal after your workout I would make that either chicken or ensure that your "steak" is a flank steak to avoid unneccesary fats at that time - I would also eat another meal right before bed consisting of just a lean meat and vegetable combo (even while cutting) just no more than 30 minutes before bed - of course if this makes it too complicated just stick with the first three numbered points above for now...

I just want to clarify, there is no one telling me I cannot stop what I am doing and eat. However, I have serious moral qualms about that regardless of my job status.
