Question cardio

which cardio do you prefer for a cutting cycle and why?

1- Incline fast walking on threadmill
2- slow running on threadmill
3- (30 sec sprint + 60 sec slow running)x5 on threadmill (i.e HIIT training)
4- stationary bike

thanks in advance...

I prefer number one, and sometimes do a variation of number three. I sprint for a minute and walk for two minutes for five rounds. I hate the stationary bike.

long duration low intensity is best for male bodybuilders trying to burn fat while maintain as much muscle as possible.

i do 40 min 3 times a week on the treadmill. incline at 3.0 and speed at 3.0

At home I do the treadmill thing usually 3.0-3.5 inline up and down all over the place.

At the gym I tend to use a bike or a stairmaster thing on a speed interval program.

Can I just confirm.....you say a long jog is better fat burning/muscle maintaining then say stair sprints or hundred yard dashes?

I prefer the low to medium intensity on an incline of 5 to 10 degrees, faster the speed the lower the incline, obviously...This is more out of necessity than preference though, I've found that getting lean (especially w/ gear like winney) causes my joints to ache to the high heavens.

been doing 20mins a day on the treadmill, starting off walking then running on 9.0. Bike is a waste of time.

running isn't needed if the goal is strictly to burn fat and maintain as much muscle as possible.

i would recommend you up the cardio to 35 min a day and stop the running. medium to brisk walk is what you want.
