Advice Request
I'm looking for some recommendations on women's anabolic usage.
My girlfriend has recently started dieting and exercising. She is 5'7", 137 lbs, & has 25 % body fat. We've determined that she needs 1500 calories/day, and she is staggering that amount daily. One day it will be 60%, the next 120%, followed by 80%, so on and so forth. She is doing 3 days of weights and about 200 minutes of cardio over 4 sessions. Well, she recently saw a report or something on TV where testosterone could be beneficial for women who are trying to get leaner. She doesn't care anything about putting on any mass. She just wants to tone and remove visible signs of fat. I've read in one of Anabolics books that Anavar is suitable for women, so I'm going to let her take 5 mg/day of my supply. I guess my questions would be: 1) Is there a chance of any side effects w/5 mg/day? 2) How long should she cycle on/off at this level? 3) If she decides to get pregnant, how long does she need to be clean b4 attempting? I appreciate everyone's help. This is my first post, but I know a few good people on this board. Sincerely, SonofBone |

Anavar at 5mgs a day will make her hold alot of water. She will look very puffy. Not the effect you want. Stick with Diet and hard work. Once that is dead on then she can think about drugs like anavar and so on.

I moved this to the female section but left a redirect in the guys section. I am not sure about the birth thing but I know one of my ex-girlfriends took anavar for a month at only 5 mg a day and put on a good solid 10 pounds of muscle. she got jacked up and had no sides except a huge sex drive. you still have to be careful. what brand of anavar do you have by the way?

if she want to look "tone" she needs to put on some muscle and shed some fat. there is no magic pill, only hard work and dedication. |

the only thing I will add is that if someone puts muscle on that it will lower your bodyfat %- by increasing the LBM in the equation you aren't reducing the total volume of fat but the increase in muscle gives it the illusion that you are smaller. so in that way it will reduce the illusion of bodyfat. and when people use the word tone they mean add muscle. society has just raped the word tone into something different but people should just say they want. when it comes down to it people want two things- To add muscle and reduce bodyfat.

AAS will not help her loose fat. If her diet and training are in good order they can help her gain muscle. If diet and training is not up to par, then taking AAS will do nothing but mess with her hormones and most likely cause a rebound when she goes off and then she'll have more fat to deal with.
Var at 5 mg/day can cause sides, acne and overly oily skin will be noticible. Women are afraid of putting on muscle because they think they're gonna look like professional bodybuilders, but that's just not gonna happen unless she trains for many years and uses supplements. If her diet is right however, she can train naturally and basically convert the fat into muscle. She may weigh the same in the end, but her bf% will be lower and she will be smaller because muscle is denser than fat. She will also have more energy and generally feel better both physically and mentally. If she wants some help with diet and training, tell her to join the board.

Thank you for all of your replies. I wasn't aware of all of the available forums, but if I had seen the Female Anabolic Discussion, it would've answered all of my questions.
You folks are great!, and I apologize for you having to post the same things over and over. However, I appreciate your generosity in doing so. It is the second week of my girlfriend's strict diet. That coupled w/her efforts in the gym, and we're both noticing the differences. Her pants are not fitting as tightly through the thighs or the buttocks. Based on the information on the board, she has decided to forgoe the use of AAS at least while she is seeing natural improvements. We've dated for a year. The majority of the time I spend training w/weights and preparing for Triathlons. She recently got the fitness bug, and I think she just wanted to go from A to Z while skipping B thru Y. However, patience is the key, and I think you folks helped her realize that fact. Thanks again, SonofBone |
