Fat burning, booty, turning 30 . . . help!!

hi everyone. i'm new here. my husband is a member and suggested i join to get some advice. i've read through some threads on fat burning and butt exercises and such . . . hope this isn't retread.

i'm turning 30 this summer. a year ago i trained for and ran a marathon. the training was stupid. it was a very gradual training intended mainly for people who didn't exercise at all. my husband and i have trained together (weights) for the past four years and the last two years very regularly. anyway, after the marathon my butt was HUGE. i have always weighed about the same - 125 lbs. but my body composition must have changed during the training for the marathon. it took me a very long time to make any progress on it at all. just when i started to see some results, i decided to train for a triathlon. i swear to god it has gotten bigger.

i've dropped calories, we don't eat badly at all, but i just can't seem to get it down. my husband tells me i don't stick with any one program for along enough and suggested a routine and high-intensity cardio for 10 weeks. anyway, just thought i'd ask for suggestions from some experienced women.

btw, i'm 5'6" and my calorie intake is probably about 1700 daily.

trip is on a distinguished road
Congratulation on all your accomplisments, you've gone where few ever go.

Seems you're doing it all correct, best guess would be, is that your buttock muscles have just grown with all the training.

This is something very specific and special, might find a local trainer and see, otherwise, I'm flummoxed.

good luck

.....did you just say "flummoxed"????? LOL!!! J/K!!!

The thing that will make your booty tight is free squats, smith squats, lunges, and stifflegged deadlifts. Genetically, I have a JLo booty as well, and since I started lifting, it has gotten bigger. Not wider, but more of a shelf. It's not fat, it is tight. When I am somewhat lean, it's still tight as a drum.
