I'm stuck!
I have been eating so cleanly (5 meals a day), I have been working out 2 times a day 5-6 days a week. I do light cardio for 40 minutes and weightlift 20 at noon, then in the evening I go running for 3-4 miles more.
My normal stats are: 121-129 lbs. 5'2" waist 27" inner thigh 23" hip 39" Post pregnancy stats: 147 lbs. waist 33"' inner thigh 24" hip 41" In the last 5 weeks I've GAINED a pound to 147. Right after the birth (12 weeks ago) I weighed 150 lbs. It's absolutely killing me! I can't take being this big!!! UGH! |

I do not know as much as some of the others, but could you be doing too much cardio and possibly slowing your metabolism down? If I was you, I would up the weigh training and lower the cardio.

I would look into the type of cardio your doing, you should try interval training. depending on you fitness level try 2 minutes at 75% and rest for 1 minute at 50% and just play with the times.
Also add 20 more minutes to your weight taining keeping your rest times small between sets focusing on higher reps around 10 to 12. also remember to work out legs hard since they are major muscles they'll you'll burn more calories while working them. |

Its all about the diet. Post up our daily eating patern and we can help you alot better. Plus you just had a baby not to long ago so im sure your hormones are not back to normal yet. Maybe get some blood work to see if everything is ok.

Thanks Bouncer...
breakfast: 2egg whites+1 whole egg + a little salsa on top 1 package of plain oatmeal snack: 1/2 cup of pistactios lunch: chicken breast or turkey breast 1/2 cup green beans (raw) snack: raw -- tomato or carrots or green peppers or green beans dinner: some kind of lean meat (chicken, pork, ground beef) 1/2 cup green vegetable (cooked) sometimes 1/2 cup brown rice I drink water all day and maybe have a 6oz. glass of milk every other day. I'm going to the Dr. tomorrow to talk about all of this and have some tests done. I don't think my hormones are all back to normal right now. It's just so frustrating to be trying so hard ad=nd not seeing ANY results. --DG |

Good advice Bouncer. However, I'm pretty sure I've read that too much (of course too much is dependent on the person) cardio can be counter productive to one's metabolism. I will see if I can find the info and post it up.
