Question Anavar and implants: before, during, after, never?

Hi all, interested in your opinions:
If you were to get a breast augmentation, could you take anavar to help your recovery? If so, would you begin your anavar before your surgery, imediately after your surgery, or whenever you were ready to start lifting again?

Thoughts appreciated. Thanks!

i agree. if you still wanted to use anavar i would wait until healed and ready to hit gym.

Ditto.

You should be back in the gym training naturally for a few weeks before going on cycle.

IGF-1 does help heal just about any tissue.

IGF-1 is inappropriate for this type of recovery for surgery. I work for a plastic surgeon. Let your recovery run it's course and then incorporate GH for faster "gym" recovery.

I wasn't implyng to take IGF-1 prior to surgery...

I know people who have had broken bones, hit by trucks, disk herniae, surgery for inguinal herniae, who took IGF-1 for recovery and it helped tremendously.

IGF-1 regenerates tissue. Besides "disagreeing", is there any scientifically-founded objection?

Heck, the literature is FILLED with IGF-1 healing properties for bones, soft tissue, etc etc etc... Search the National Library of Medicine if you wish... http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi

The science is all there.

Well, since I work for a plastic surgeon and he is founder and Medical Director of The Center for Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery and has published five books on plastic surgery, recovery, and techniques, I take him for his word. I consulted him before I just posted "Willy Nilly," and I was not trying to flame you at all. I just happened to be in the office when I saw this post and asked him because I was curious. Thank you for the science lesson and I know research points GH and IGF-1 as a good ideas, but does not specifically address elective surgeries, such as breast augmentation. Again, it was only one plastic surgeons recommendation, it's not gospel.

That clears that up, then. Thanks for the info. Although I believe I will use IGF-1 right after my, erm, breast surgery.

The only thing that helps speed recovery after implants is a lot of chest muscle tissue. That is exactly the reason I was at the mall on Sunday after having mine done on a Friday.

My doctor said since my muscles were used to being torn down and rebuilding themselves from working out, recovery would be much faster than that of the average sedentary female.

I'm the same as Red - surgery was Friday and I was at the mall on Sunday. Even drove a standard to get there (a bit painful but I did it). I wouldn't bother with the Anavar until you were fully recovered and ready to hit the gym hard.

your recovery

is also contingent on the size of implant, your skins elasticity, the pocket the doc has to create and whether its over or under the muscle....

Before you jump, do some homework on 'overaggressive healing response'....it's not smart to gamble.

Are you going under the muscle or over the muscle? I believe you have a longer recovery if they're under the muscle, but they look more natural.

update: doin it the natural way. I did know a certain young lady on a now defunct board that shant be mentionned, who was on cycle when she got her implants and healed miraculously. I decided instead to go with the no. 1 surgeon in my province, which was expensive but worth it, as he is absolutely meticulous and they look frikken awesome. Apparently the surgery "went as good as it could ever possibly go"; doc said that I have significant muscle mass with very high flexibility, making it easy to place the implant (under), I respond well to drugs, and lets hear it for the doc - can we say ZERO bruising. It's only been a month and they're soft and comfy already, still dropping. Did my first weensie chest workout on the weekend - arms are more sore than chest is! Encore for the doc - no distortion visible yet. Weenie weights mind you. The pink ones.

I'm wondering how that works out... Isn't there danger of bursting the implant when benching heavy if they're under the muscle?

I would not trust a cosmetic surgeon to know anything about IGF-1 or any anabolic steroid. Hell, my urologist doesn't know about these drugs how do you expect a cosmetic surgeon to know about them. Doctors don't know diddly squat about anabolics. I would trust the scientific information before I would rely on ANY
doctor's advise or opinion.

Obviously you don't know your ass from a hole in the ground. Do you even know what physicians do prior to specializing in a particular field after med-school????

It's about caution and gathering all information a possible about a subject prior to going this route, especially with elective surgery.

FYI, this physician knows more about surgery recovery, which is noted Science in application, not theory, ergo your "trust the scientific information." He also worked in Sports Medicine as a physician prior to moving into Cosmetic Surgery.

Lastly BONEHEAD, this physician is well read in regard to GH and its many applications, not so much in IGF-1 information as of yet. Some of his clients are Fitness, Figure, and Body Builders, so he has had to be fully aware of this drug and others. So, before you start making bonehead comments, be informed and post your rants in General Chat so we can all get a laugh...

Oh, back to your comment, do you know how "scientific research" is gathered, and by whom???? Come on, get it together.

Hey FB, Bouncer, can we nominate this foolio for ASS CLOWN OF THE MONTH?

Urologist... :laughnew:
