Hips hurting?

Over the last few weeks I've noticed that when I'm sitting Indian style on the floor with the baby, that my hips start to ache.

I'll get up, and they are stiff and achy...this isn't what arthritis starts out to be, is it?

you have gotten a little scared about your health lately havent you? you sort of think you have health issues whenever you have a minor problem? i have noticed these types of questions more and more from you.

you are fine, sitting like that just puts your hips in an odd position.

relax!

LMFAO. I figured you would be the one to say something like that. I thought about that after I posted. I guess once you have bambinos, you don't want the small things to turn into bigger things- which could effect the entire family.

My cause for alarm was that they had never hurt when I have sat in that position before. They've hurt for about a month, I guess...And, some days I can't sit like that very long before having to switch positions. I've never had any real quirks w/ my body, so it's odd to have these things pop up.

Thought the hips hurting could have something to do w/ the pregnancy. I know the hips on a female spread a little- thought this might be them going back to where they were, sparky.

For real? Like, they got wide, and then went back? Do you remember how long after your boy was born that she mentioned it? Did she complain that they ached when she sat in a certain position? I remember late in my pregnancy they started to hurt- like a month before I was due. I had heard that it happens...I guess I just thought they would have already gone back..I'm 9 months past giving birth.

SEE, Bouncer!!

They hurt during prego stages because your hips are widening as the baby gets ready to descend. She still has some issues if I put her legs up in a certain position He was a big boy to start...Does your hips ever "pop" when you move in bed or sitting down and you adjust your body?

The red box is how Dr's can tell if a woman has had kids before....The relaxin your body makes causes the joints to loosen during pregnancy in preparation for birth. This is part of the reason women develop the characteristic "waddle" late in pregnancy. This is necessary because it allows the hips to spread a bit to help bare the load created by the baby and also makes it possible for the fixed as well as the ball and socket joints to unhinge just a bit during the pushing phase without causing any real damage to the joints. (Or be nearly as uncomfortable as one of those joints coming unhinged or misaligned without the relaxin, believe me.)

After the birth, the joints slip back into place and slowly tighten back to their usual positions over the next few weeks as the body stops producing relaxin and the existing hormone is released from the body....Sometimes your hips do not get realigned completely after delivery and Chiropractor adjustment is helpful; my father was one.

If it still as an issue...Go to your Chiro(or get one)...have them xray you and see how you're aligned.....Good luck.

Another thing....You really don't have hips right? I've seen your pics a while back and don't remember you having any....I mean, you're a white girl lol

No but seriously....If you have hips, or child bearing hips as they call them...You should be fine....I forget, was it a C section or vaginal delivery?
