What's Your Favorite Cardio?

OK...I absolutely hate treadmill. I'm liking stiarmaster and eliptical. What other forms of cardio to you girls like?

I'm lookin for ideas to do outside of the gym mostly.

I enjoyed skipping rope a few months ago...I gotta start that again. Too funny doing it though cuz I'm lame! I watch myself in a sliding glass door reflection and it's like a commedy routine...hop hop trip...hop hop hop trip. LOL At least it keeps me amused.

I love the Elliptical trainer too. I have really bad knees, so running is out of the question.

Im tend to favour the cross-trainer, but will do a 1.5 mile on the tread mill or 12 minutes on the stepper. However, I play/practice volleyball four times a week for an hour and a half, which is pretty intense and is the best cardio ever.

My question is....how long do you all do your cardio for??

I will do a max of 20 min, everytime I workout.

I run the stairs on the campus of U of T once a week. It's a great burn.

I also enjoy my spinning class in the winter months when the above can't be done! It's killer!

Holy SH*T gymchic, thats a long cardio session!

I just get so freakn' bored after 25 min, that I have to quit. I start looking around at people and the walls, the tv, everything else. I bet your in awesome shape!

I do 20 min, of interval training, 1 min moderate, 30 sec hard etc...
It seems to make time fly by, and its hard.

T.

I only get to work out about 45 minutes per day so I squeeze whatever cardio I can in after lifting...today was only 10 minutes I prefer the elliptical or now that I'm 6 months pregnant I use the stationary bike with the back rest a lot. I try to read good articles to keep my mind off of how long I've been peddling or walking/running

30 minutes if I've trained upperbody, but if I've done leg work right now I can only do 15. I'd like to work up to 45 & 30 min. over the next month or so. I can't stay focussed to read when I'm doing cardio...I tend to loose my ballance if I'm reading.

I'm trying to bulk right now so my cardio is down to 20 minutes 3 times per week.

I'd have to say for a new cardio twist you won't get bored with?.....Pop your favorite tunes in the cd player and DANCE! I know ya got it in ya, Mrs. P. :p

I usually do the cross-trainer for 45 min 4x a week. But I also do a kickboxing class 2x a week. Which really kicks my ass.

I'm lucky if I get in 2 sessions of 20 min!!! What kills me is I never do cardio @ the gym...so of course when I get home, I never feel like hopping on the treadmill....

at the gym my favorite is the Stairmaster! At home it's taking long walks outside. My daughter who is 3 will walk about a mile with me then gets into the stroller. She loves to walk a mile, she thinks its so cool.

Nobody goes good old fashioned jogging? I like to go for a run with my mp3 player and my dog. But I can't do it when it's freezing like it is out right now in NJ.

try a spin class - i have a heart rate monitor and try and stay aerobic so that i dont burn muscle mass and only fat. this is a great cardio workout - if you dont have time to commit for a whole class, jump on a spin bike and do 20 mins. try and stay in your target heart rate and you will see great results! if you do want to go anaerobic, try and only do spurts so that you are not burning any valuable muscle!!!
btw - eliptical is also kick ass!

One rule of thumb pertaining to this issue:

If you are like me, and eat your 4th meal right before gym time, you will NOT run the risk of burning muscle since you just fed you body nutrients. If you really want to burn fat, do cardio in the morning on an empty stomach.
