  • Colorado doctor pleads guilty in steroids pharmacy case

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) -- A Colorado physician in a Mobile-based anabolic steroid probe has pleaded guilty to a federal charge of conspiracy to dispense a controlled substance.

Dr. Kenneth Olds Jr., of Greeley, Colo., pleaded guilty Friday and also agreed to surrender $17,400 in money he received for writing improper subscriptions.

Olds is the fourth physician to plead guilty to charges linked to the distribution of steroids or other performance enhancing substances tied to Mobile-based Applied Pharmacy Services. The pharmacy has not been charged in the continuing investigation.

Olds, 63, could face up to five years in prison and $250,000 in fines, but his cooperation is likely to reduce his penalty. He remains free until sentencing in December.
