BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A federal judge in Connecticut has sentenced a Texas man to home confinement and probation for selling steroids over the Internet.
Thirty-two-year-old Corey Stanford Jr. of Austin was sentenced Friday for distributing anabolic steroids.
Stanford was given one year of probation, with the first four months under home confinement.
Federal officials say Stanford was snared by "Operation Phony Pharm," an investigation headed by the FBI's Healthcare Fraud Unit in Connecticut. Investigators targeted Web sites that offered drugs without a doctor's prescription.
