5-2 last nite and a profit of +$260
running total profit of +$1,567
todays picks are:
Cincinnati Reds +$120
It's no secret that I've backed up Harang almost each time he's pitched. I took the run line on his last start because he was opposing Clemens. Not only did they hit the RL, they won the game. Reds had their winning streak snapped yesterday. Even though Harang's numbers haven't been as impressive as Penny's, I see a Reds team that is starting to believe in themselves. The Marlins have been offensively inconsistant and doesn't show the power numbers that the Reds have in their line-up lately. I like the home dog and my boy Harang here.
KC Royals -$110
Two teams looking like they are going in opposite directions. KC has been showing some offensive power lately and the Tigers are almost looking like last years version. Pitching match-up once again favors the opponent, but the Tigers might rest Pudge today and the offense will again not over power that of the Royals. Detroit also have problems against lefties, averaging only 3.8 runs against them. The Tigers have failed to score more than 3 runs in their last 3 games.
Milwaukee Brewers -$155
Weaver is perfect for LA. There is one problem. He doesn't have the same results on the road. Weaver has an ERA of 6.35 on the road and will have difficulties in a hitters park in Milwaukee. Sheets have grown accustomed at home with an ERA of 2.22 and has an ERA of 1.87 in his last 3 starts. Dodgers have been inconsistant at the plate and the Brewers have a very powerful, young group of offensive hitters in their club.
Chicago White Sox -$160
Buerhle has been perfect against Texas. He is 4-0 with an ERA of 2.67. He has been excellent lately. His ERA is a sparking 0.87 in his last 3 starts. Texas only average 3.8 runs on the road. Texas is 6-9 against lefties. Chisox is 21-12 against righties.
St. Louis Cardinals -$180
The Pirates had their day yesterday. Now it's the Cards turn. Vogelsong has been terrible. His ERA is 7.07. 6.35 in his last 3 starts. I'm not much of a Suppan backer, but he's pitched relatively well during the past couple of weeks. His ERA is 4.11 in his last 3 starts.
Baltimore Orioles +$110
Contreras was very close unraveling in the 1st inning against Texas in his last start. He got out without further damage and squeezed his way into a decent outing. Will have a tougher time tonight in his 2nd stint on the road since his call-up.
Anaheim Angels +$105
I normally like the Jays with Halladay on the mound but Toronto has problems facing lefites. They are 6-9 against lefties and 0-3 as home favorites of -$125.00 to -$150.00.
Atlanta Braves / Philadelphia Phillies over 9.5 -Even
The Phillies scored late versus the Mets yesterday to come away with a victory. At times that carries on to the next game. The Braves bats have also awakened a bit lately. Both pitchers not to keen lately. Millwood has an ERA of 6.11 in his last 3 starts. Wright has an ERA of 5.06 in his last 3 starts. Millwood is 0-4 with a 7.77 ERA against the Braves.
