    todays plays: :megaphone

    Under 3.5 +105 First 5 Innings Pitt/Wash
We have the respective aces from both squads on the mound today. Livan is probably one of the hottest if not the hottest SP in the majors my only concern is he tends to get tougher in inning 6 thru 8. Redman has been tough all year especially at home and Pitt has really struggled last few times vs LH{Moyer & RJ}.

    Under 9.5 -120 Stl/Cincy
    Under 5 -101 First 5 Innings
    Reds +146

Carpenter has been the King of the Road in 2005 going 5-0 in 6 starts. He sports a sub 1.00WHip and 1.90ERA and owns 4 excellent starts vs Cincy since he became a Cardinal. Last August these two dueled in one of the best pitched games of the year as Harang came out on top 1-0. Harang has pitched two excellent games at home vs STL in the past 2 seasons. The numbers are 16inning with 9hits allowed , 2Ers and 2bb/8k's. Meanwhile at home he is 2-2 in 6 starts witha 2.16 ERA this year. With 42K's in 41.2 innings and just 36 baserunners allowed!

    Over 8.5 Milw/ChiC +102
    Over 4.5 -103 First 5 Innings

Greg Maddux has owned the Brewers throughout his career but his 2 starts vs them in 2005 have been less then dominanting. He has 11innings 17hits / 7Ers and 4bb 6K's. Toma Ohka is hard to figure he has spun some real nice starts of late but overall lets see how the transition to a more hitter friendly park effects his numbers . Remember even with the low ERA his BB/K ratio i s still 27-23.

    Padres -166
Dodgers are in a funk and had to travel back to Cali while Peavy is trying to avoid his 3rd straight loss but SD is suddenly streaking IMO. The Padres were able to beat Johan Santana 5-1 yesterday and now have won consecutive games while LAD has dropped 6 straight including being swept in KC!! Now Peavy coming off three starts mired by an infection claims to be healthy.......good enough for me! Penny has been solid on teh road but it seems LAD just finds way to loses and Peavy has a sound track record vs LAD.

    Under 8.5 -105 Boston/Cleveland
    Under 4.5 -103 First 5 Innings

Both SP are throwing well but especially Wells which doesnt bode well vs Cleveland IMO as they continue to struggle to hit LHP. Boston has improved throughout the year vs LHP but might not have Manny Ramirez in the lineup.

    Under 9.5 -121 O's/ Jays
    Under 5 +104 First 5 Innings

Ted Lilly has been real tough his last 3 home outing allowing just 2 runs in 19.2 innings and both SP have solid records vs there opponents. Chen has been less then stellar on the road but basically works out to a 3run in 6 inning type SP away from Camden. He did pitch well vs the 2004 Jays and for the most part Toronto is now struggling vs LHP but should get there biggest weapon back in Vernon Wells{watch for his status}. The O's have been kept in check last few starts vs LH as well.

    Mariners -113
Seattle is HOT at home and Oakland just struggles on the road. This would be a more significant play if the opposing SP wasnt Danny Haren. Sele has been sharp in his recent outings{ 4 of 5} and owns a great track record vs Oakland. Haren has struggled somewhat away and his recent run has 3 of the 4 starts at home.

    Los Angeles Angels +100
Both guys are on huge runs but LAA is home with the better pen and Byrd is 5-1 at home!
