Hey yall...I just looked at this post from just over 3yrs ago. I just pulled this off my daughter's myspace. A little background, I bought her, her first snowboard for Xmas this year and took her to Mt. Shasta (Shasta, CA) to board. Absolutely one of the most amazing week's we've had. As a digress, here is what I pulled off her page. I was BLOWN AWAY, teared up and had no idea it was even there. (Remember, she was 13 when I posted this originally, and now she is 16) HERE GOES:


"My dad is my savior. I enjoy when im with him, and he always finds a way to make me smile. I know I dont see him often, and I feel really bad about it. But It only makes the times we do see each other even more special than they already are. My dad is my dad, no matter what other people think. Step or not, he is my dad, and always will be. He has done so much for me, that no other man can even compare themselves to him, and no other man will be my father. He is the best role model, and the best father a kid could ask for. He has a great sense of style, and I love shopping with him; after i eat of course. I love snow boarding with him, because he always makes me feel like I can do anything; even when im not snoboarding. I love to dance in the car with him with music, and shuffling through the random radio stations and sing the song if we know them, from old tunes to new ones. I just cant picture a life without him, and I know it'd be hard. I love him so much, and I just wish sometimes i'd show it more, because I feel like I dont give him enough credit for what he truly does for me. Mentally, Physically, and Emotionally. He is just an amazing dad, and he needs to get more credit. I love you so much dad. I really, really do. "

you seem like a great DAD. I hoep I never have a daughter. I think I would cry if I had a daughter. Just to know that one day she might get a loser bf who I hate. or if someone hurt her. I would be paranoid like crazy. I would just lock her in her room and not let her out.

What type of luck am I having, my daughter's second period was with me too...

It must be karma, either I am a big a$$hole or this is just my calling. LOL!

What's funny is that she nicknamed her period as her "truck." This is to disguise it when we are talking in public about it. Call me soft, but it was the cutiest thing I have ever heard my daughter say. My little angel...

Thanks again.....just think, the week before her first period, she came home from her grandparent's house in Bakersfield with head lice (it's always something with them, last year, "swimmers ear."). She was so embarrassed (I told her it's really no big deal as I began to scratch every part of my body...LOL), but we sat through after treating her hair for 4 hrs picking through every strain to pull nits out. It's been a funfilled couple of weeks, lice, pedicures, period, golf, and the gym. YAHOOOOO!


Here is a sample pic of the pedicure I am talking about...LOL...What us Dad's do for our daughters.. Oh yeah, I wear a size 15 shoe to put it in perspective

I applaud you for being a wonderful father, who is not afraid to talk to your daughter and help her out when she needs you. When she gets older she will know that she can count on you to talk about anything.

Thanks everyone. Being a Father is tough, but I wouldn't change it for anything in the world. It's funny because if you saw me in person, you wouldn't think I look like the nicest guy.

That's cool that you dealt with it that well. The same thing happened to my girlfriend in high school, but her dad couldn't deal with it at all--he lost cool points. Great Dad's are a diamond in the rough!
