I could realisticly see Moss going to New England.
Hm...how well would he fit into Belichick's "no superstars" system? No doubt New England is looking to pick up someone to fill the void left by Dion Branch, but Moss is going to have to stuff his ego for that to work.
Who says there aren't any deals at the NFL trading deadline?
FOXSports.com has learned that Bucs defensive tackle Anthony McFarland has been traded to the Colts for a second-round pick in 2007.
The Colts have been desperate for help at defensive tackle both because of their poor run defense and the recent release of high-salaried defensive tackle Corey Simon with an undisclosed illness.
Tampa Bay had been actively shopping many of their high-priced players after starting the season 0-4.
This could end up being a very good trade for the Bucs, who were beginning to replace McFarland in their defensive-line rotations on passing downs. For example, in Sunday's win over the Bengals, Ellis Wymns replaced Farland at defensive tackle and recorded two sacks in the game. McFarland played his fewest snaps of the season last Sunday.
McFarland, who turns 30 next season, will count the same against the Colts' salary cap this season as Simon did. Next season, his contract is for $5.5 million. The Colts, who need to re-sign pass rusher Dwight Freeney most likely will ask McFarland to re-do his 2007 contract.
The good news for the Colts is that the move reunites McFarland with head coach Tony Dungy, who was in Tampa Bay when McFarland was drafted.
great trade they need a run stopper and some heart in the middle
For the Colts it is, but not for Tampa. Those f'ers have a hard time as it is stopping teams from scoring and now they trade one of their best d-tackles.
