  • Monday Night Football Week 11

    YTD 39-29-1

Forgot to post my plays yesterday. Ended up 3-3 and lost a little juice.

    Tonight:

NEW YORK GIANTS @ JACKSONVILLE JAGS -4
    NY. Giants (6-3, 3-1 away) at Jacksonville (5-4. 4-1 home) @ 8:30 PM. EST. * ESPN

It was Dec. 22, 2002 when Tom Coughlin last patrolled the sideline at Alltel Stadium, presiding over a 28-10 Jacksonville Jaguars loss to the Tennessee Titans amid a persistent chorus of boos that rained down near the end of a disappointing 6-10 season.
Coughlin will make his return to Jacksonville on Monday night, when his New York Giants visit Alltel to meet the Jags, and while the Bronx cheers will likely persist, the head coach hopes things go just a bit better than the last time he worked the facility.

Coughlin, who went 72-64 (.529) and led the Jaguars to four posteason appearances from 1995 to 2002, has his current team atop the NFC East at 6-3. The Giants, who are among the most injury-plagued units in the NFL at the moment, will be seeking to bounce back from last Sunday's 38-20 home loss to the Bears. New York had a 13-3 advantage late in the first half of that contest, but defensive and special teams lapses led the G-Men to be outscored 35-7 the rest of the way.

Also coming off a troubling defeat is Jacksonville, which dropped to 5-4 last Sunday after the lowly Houston Texans completed a home-and-home sweep of the Jaguars in the form of a 13-10 win at Alltel. Making his third start in place of the injured Byron Leftwich (ankle), Jags quarterback David Garrard tossed a career-high four interceptions, including two that bounced off the hands of wideout Matt Jones.

The defeat virtually assured that the Jaguars would not catch Indianapolis in the AFC South, and placed Jacksonville within a glut of teams that are at or near .500 and seeking a Wild Card opportunity at the moment.
