Magda's ring is worth 10K (had it appraised for insurance), but I only paid about $400 for it. My mom kept her rings after her divorce from my step-dad so that my brother and/or I could use the diamonds when we were ready. So I used the diamonds I wanted, put them in a new setting and just had to pay for the setting and labor.

yea, we chose to just let her pick out what she wanted etc..

i figured if i had picked it out it would have been ugly cause i dont know shit about them. lol

We looked together a couple times at a few different places and then I knew what she preferred in terms of style. It's too much money to go in blindly.

Tiffany's is only 1.02 ct but it is a colorless, vvs1 Leo diamond. It's a beautiful ring that I was proud to be able to purchase and put on her finger. If I thought for a moment that she didn't appreciate the hard work that went into being able to afford it or appreciate it's value and meaning then I would have never got it, but she does and I know it and she is worth it.

its only 1 carrot but the quality and color (colorless) are pretty high on the color and cut chart.
