The deeper I dig the more I realize how brilliant some of the kids are today. I mean there are 9 year olds writing code for apps. Writing code is no joke. My mind isn't wired for this shit.

I'm decent at the basics but some of the algorithms and use of arrays are overwhelming.

I did a lot of coding when I was in grad school, mostly scientific programming using FORTRAN lol.... I don't think anyone is only enough on this board to know what that is.

My wife is an expert at all the new stuff - XML, C#, .NET, Ruby on Rails and stuff like that. I don't know the first thing of anything beyond C.

Funny you should attach that picture blm.... I actually used punch cards in my first 3 years in college in the mid 80s lol.... In my junior year my department purchased a VAX 11 and that's the first time I actually got to use a terminal.

I got really good at reading punch cards. I could look at the holes and know what the card said. :)

I knew what fortran was cuz I work with some older guys who started with it and they talk about the punch cards. My how things have changed.
