We are supposed to be men. We are fathers and brothers. We protect and defend. You wanna raise a boy to be soft and lose those natural instincts? You think the ancient Romans cried their eyes out before they went into battle??

Newsflash to you fucking do-gooders. The whole world we live in today was built on violence. We need men who have balls not cry babies.

These people are turning kids into a bunch of fairys who won't know how to stand on there own two feet. Hell, I was belted regularly by my parents and I ended up a fine upstanding member of the community.

Our fathers fathers would be appalled

I got the "be a man" treatment and am glad I did. Got spanked, belt, "suck it up, dont you cry". Was allowed to have guns before puberty, dirtbikes, 4 wheelers, have a half a beer with my old man before teenage years...I agree Red, liberals and queers are turning society into a bunch of soft ass pussies. There's a point where parents can go to far obviously, but I was raised on old fashioned values that my parents were raised on in the 50's. A lost and dying art of producing fine upstanding members of our communities as you put it. True, I'm incapable of crying. Can't remember the last time I did, been over 5 years anyhow. The way I see it, a man shouldn't be crying like a woman unless a loss in the family or friend occurs. Just my 2 cents :thumb:

true story. my dad would ask me which one I would rather play.. "basketball or football".. if i picked football he would say "why don't you like basketball"?

These type of mental fucks at such a young age for someone with a personality and mind like mine is fucken dangerous. I am very lucky to have had the mom I had. If it weren't for her things could have been very different for me.

daddy issues for sure. i always did great in school when my teacher was a woman. if my teacher was a man forget about it. failed. i will never trust any man. Same reason I never had much of an interest in playing sports despite being pretty athletic. i dont care for "the team".. only myself and LOL @ any man yelling or talking down to me... id die before I let that shit happen...

    Novel over. :)

    ^also good points.

I think there's a balance to be had, you gotta prepare kids for life and which ever way you spin it boys and girls become more different in some ways with time, physiologically, and also society percieves and treats them differently. But just as its true to say that guys need to have resiliance it is also short sighted and ignorant to believe that making them emotionally retarded with default sayings like "be a man" etc effectively blocks of their emotional intelligence and you wind up with an incomplete, less than compassionate, weaker adult.
