Big props to bouncer for picking up on this, aftet months of western politicians condemin AssadAl Bashir, president of syrias brutal put down of his own civillians, to the point we got near invasion, it looks like predictably, that sentiment has begun to unravell, and in fact the stratospheric embarrassement that was iraq, now seems go be embarrassing us furthet as the infamous, dreadfull extreemist islamic fighting force which includes ISIS, are now spreading from Iraq and also battling Assads, state firces in syria.
A nightmarish scenario could occur where they concur iraq and syria with their extreme version of sharia law

The CIA have a saying which applies to lethal dictators they can work with. "He may be a bastard, but he's our bastard".
No ptevious brutal dictator, to include the likes of; Assad, Gadaffi, Saddam, would be as bad to live under as ISIS sharia state.
We could well see a softening rhetoric, towards Assad, perhaps even support.
