So, last night I hit a pine flat looking for a hog to take or film some deer. I know of a water hole out on a big pine flat and as dry as it is..figured maybe...Ill catch some hogs slipping in for water near dark.
About an hour before dark I catch two 100lb sized hogs comming across the flat from the drain,150 yds out. As Im waiting for a good shot...a Deer starts snorting an alarm (near water hole..140 yds different direction). Im thinking..hows this deer smelling me..when she cant wind me? hogs go on alert and spook...then I see the deer bound off Im like WTF???
Then I see him move.. Im guessing in the 9 to 10 ft range. Out on a big pine flat in a small water hole..Damn.. So deer was working into water smelled Gator and spooked hogs. Amazing how things work..
