Jeff Bezos in your shower anyone?...
_______________
Kohler's new showerhead is also an Alexa-powered smart speaker
Morning showers aren't usually thought of as a time for entertainment, but if you're really determined to make use of every minute you could try out Kohler's new showerhead with a built-in smart speaker.
The Moxie AI Speaker can be purchased with or without a new showerhead, so you can also fit it to your existing shower. It's powered by Amazon Alexa and docks magnetically, and of course it's fully waterproof with a IPX67 rating. The speaker is tuned for bathroom spaces so it can be heard over the noise of the shower, and it has tactile control buttons and cordless charging.
You could brighten up your evening ablutions with a shower-based sing-a-long, or listen to new or podcasts while you're getting ready for work in the morning. With a playback time of 6-7 hours, the product will be available to order later this year and will cost between $99 and $229 depending on options.
Kohler is also introducing other smart home products including the Aquifer Refine water purification system with WiFi connectivity, the Setra touchless kitchen faucet which can monitor your water usage, the DTV digital shower system which lets you set shower mode presets, two toilets with touchless flushing or intelligent water efficiency features, a heated toilet seat and an outdoor backup generator for if your power goes out.
These products will be available to order this year, or you can see them in action at the Kohler booth at CES 2020.

this is funny to me. there is almost no 4k broadcast on TV. almost no sports will be broadcast in 4k now or in the near future. the Superbowl for example will be broadcast in lowly 720p because that's what fox boradcast in and they cover the superbowl. not even 1080p for fck sake. yet tv companies are selling 8k for a premium. by the time real 8k content is readily available everywhere (10 years minimum) these 8k tv's will be out of date, old, and irrelevant.Originally posted by Bouncer View PostLeave a comment:

CES 2020 New Tech & Gadgets
Air Conditioning in a Baseball Cap
CES might be the launchpad for several technical innovations that will impact the day to day lives of people in the years to come, but it’s also a show where you’ll find entrepreneurs whose focus is … a bit more narrow.
In years past, the show has seen everything from walking cars to smart diapers. And this year is no exception to the glorious strangeness.
Pretty much everyone wears a baseball cap at some point or another, often to keep the sun off of their head and stay a little cooler on a hot summer afternoon. Entrepreneur Steve Feher is taking things to the next level, though, showcasing a cap that has air conditioning built in.
The cap foregoes refrigerants and instead uses thermoelectric technology to produce cooler air that, in turn, lowers the temperature of the scalp—as much as 22 degrees below the ambient temperature. Feher claims that can increase a wearer’s physical endurance.
