I'm going to do dumbells next time I train and just not go balls out on the flat when I go back till I get used to it, it definately feels unnatural after not doing it for so long. The workout I dod the other day although light really brought more depth to my lower chest though since incorporating flat

thanks bro good advice, ya I didn't think it was a proper tear, it just felt a crackle on the lift and they days after it felt pent up and stressed so the massage definitely relieved tension before anything else happened and got the blood where it needed to beOriginally posted by wnabeabeast View PostI just saw this and seems like you are healing pretty good my guess is you didn't have a tear to beging with since you haven't done chest in ages it was just a slight strain. Even the smalest tear usually causes bruising it may be small but you'll still see some black and blue plus if it was a tear again the smalest tear will effect your range of motion you won't have a full ange of motion and finally if it was a tear you won't be able to do any kinda deep tissue massage because pain will be unberabal(sp) oh and one last thing this goes for anyone thinks they tore any kind of muscle please don't get any deep tissue massage, if you think you have tear and you let someone put their thumb through that tear it'll only make it worst not any better.
Anywho I am glad to hear that you are feeling better.:)

well I trained chest last night and I'm really pleased with the recovery, I could feel the strangeness and a little pain in the chest/shoulder jont. I worked to 225lbs, starting on flat and did three sets at that weight, 3 sets incline at that weight also I felt really in control and got through it with no problems. Only training three nights this week and getting plenty of rest but it was a good controled comback so I'm happy. Anyone else feels something, my advice is stop right away, get anti inflamatories down, get it seen to and come back slow and controled and light. I won't be trying to press 405lb for a few months now, need to let my chest get used to flat benching again.

good to hear.Originally posted by Mr incredible View Postfeels much better actually, thanks for asking, I'm really happy I got things done in the right order and got the massage. It hurt worse and over a larger area for a couple of days but now it feels generally healed although I still know its there if you know what I mean.
It has never bled and I feel that I haven't lost any integrity but I will take it very steady now for a few weeks. I'll start with 1 plate a side and if it feelr right, move to 2 plates and stick at that for a few weeks. I think it was mainly that I haven't flat benced for a long long time and I was attempting to do a different form, elbows at 45 degrees instead of 90. It stressed my shoulder more than its used to from that angle.

ya I'll do that next week if it stil feels odd, the problem with regular docs over here is that as long as you can walk out of there ok they don't really care. Becasue its a state system its basic, over the water you all have to get private health insurance, but the upside is they probably look at you i more detail. I may have to just push hard if needs be, for now I feel sore but theres no discolouration, which there would have been after a tear and following the deep tissue massage.

its more sore now tha it was which I expected after the massage, but now I know everything is where it should be, muscle fibres lined up etc. just gona keep the protien up, vits and rest.
Moral of the storey, just because you can doesn't mean you should:wacko:
I would have to agree with Bouncer. After going to my regular doctor, he signed off that i should see a specialist. After seeing a specialist he determined my condition.

I'll wont do shoulders this week now and I'll see how the week turns out, hopefully next week I can start bach with 15 rep sets with slow soft form on chest and shoulders and see how it goes.

skip all overhead pressing along with bench - use cable machine for chest go light
