thanks for making the same post 3 hours after your original.Originally posted by NewbieChris View PostI saw the  and thought, "good, he read the sarcasm in my post.". As I read on I thought. "either, I'm really bad at sarcasm or he's a dumb monkey."
That being said, I got into it because Ive always admired Arnold and team sports never really included me. My momeecuded that I was spending too much time tinkering with stuff and told me I had to start a sport(as a senior in HS). Moderate success with lifting lead to great interest, but yo-yo success lead to a moderate interest. After I lost my job during the summer following bear sterns collapse, while I was volunteering, I fell in love with bb. Read what j could, etc.
So, yes I guess I did get into it to lose weight, but I would gladly have gotten into it for the reasons you did. All I was tryingto say with my first post was, everyones not the same. Some of us just have to be more diligent.
once again, you fail at the iphone.

the way you responded above showed that you didn't get what we were talking about. we were talking about how fun it was when we first started lifting in high school and ate ate everything in site to get big. we didnt count cals, weigh food etc..
you never got into it for those reasons. thats why i said better for you to be strict, you got into it because you were fat, etc... is that not true?

I started to try and get more chics after high school. I was pretty skinny growing up playing soccer. Problem is I was still too shy which pretty much meant I didn't have the game to get the girls I liked. I was a quality over quantity guy. Well the further out of high school I got, the more it gave me a uniqueness in comparison to the majority that I identified with. As I got older and more people around me where getting fatter, I couldn't stand the thought of ending up like that one day. Now having kids it's all about staying very healthy and active to be part of their lives. So deep down it has always been in my nature, but the nurture reasons have changed.

Right now I think that since I'm not concerened about my diet I am training the best I ever have in the gym I have never felt this satisfied after leaving the gym... ever.Originally posted by NewbieChris View PostFor some of us it isn't so simple. I was 95% the way there on diets and workout, etc and I still wasn't seeing results. If I'm not at 105% then I just don't see results.
Maybe you should give it a try. I doubted it, I swore by being super scientific but now, every year I am going to take a break from the gym and cut slack in my diet,.
It's gonna be even better now, a friend of mine is is gonna start going to the gym so having a constant spotter and someone from the military pushing you to work harder I will expect to be an awesome addition.

haha, you just totally went the opposite way.Originally posted by Nekrawulf View PostIf you really want to start gettiing scientific, you should get metabolic assesments to figure out your resting metabolic rate so you know exactly how many calories you need.
And you should also get tested to figure out your aerobic base and anerobic threshold....
then you will truly be working out smarter
