The longer you eat clean the easier it gets. It takes times though. You just have to ask yourself what you want more.. that piece of cake or abs..

You really shouldn't be starving a couple weeks into your diet though. When I competed the last 4-5 weeks were very hard but that's getting down into extremely low single digits. I have abs now and I'm full almost all day long and I bet I'm eating the same amount of calories as when you were bulking.

I'm curious how strict you were with your food selection when you were bulking? For me I eat the same exact thing just more or less depending on what I'm trying to accomplish.

When your used to eating a ton of cals like he was it's very common for people to get cravings after a few weeks of dieting. Tons of diets fail because of it.

I never calculated out my calories before but I'm currently eating just about 4600 calories. I'm not hungry and I have abs.

I guess that's why I was thinking his bulking diet was not clean and made up of fattier foods??

Take GH out the equation Chad and eat that much and let's see of you still have the abs... unless you doing countless hours of cardio

I'm not hungry either. But we aren't just starting the whole "eat clean phase". If your used to pizza and candy cakes your gonna miss it for awhile. And yea, I think it's safe to assume he was a junk food eater.

i personalty don't see how chadd can say he eats specifically around "4600" calories but he's never calculated it out.

it's very likely he's not hitting that target most days. you can only eyeball something once you've first calculated it out and you have a clear understanding of portion sizes etc..

do you have your diet posted here chadd?

I've always weighed everything out to the ounce. I think I posted this before but here's my diet. And the calories are after each food. I just googled the calories for each so it could be that it is off a little. No idea. I never counted calories before but know to the ounce what I eat every day.

3/4 cup oats 200

Lagrange handful of almonds 160

10oz chicken 680
5oz rice 185

2 scoop of natty pb 160
cup of greek yogurt 100
4 hard boiled eggs 200

10oz chicken 680
5oz rice 185

workout
post workout shake 50g whey 200

I'm sure a lot is genetics. I said it before but I have skinny genetics. I play soccer 1-2 times a week. That's all the cardio I do. Just recently started adding in weighted sled sprints. If I stopped working out and ate like crap I would loose muscle and get skinny. I guess it's better than having fat genetics.

Not sure if I still have skinny genetics because I never let myself get out of shape. I was an athlete in high school/college and for the last 15+ years I have had almost the same diet. Just increasing or decreeing the amount of food I consume depending if I'm cutting, bulking or maintaining. Guessing my genetics are still on the skinny side though. I still eat a decent amount of food and can stay somewhat lean.

Yea I'm saying you will not look fat, but I doubt you will have the abs.. if you eat like crap and no exercise... especially as we age... guess we can call it skinny fat

I was never a junk food eater. Especially when bulking. Junk food is junk. I was eating chicken, rice, sweet potatoes, whole eggs, ground turkey and I'd threw things like american cheese etc that's all. I think the 3400kcals I was eating was too much calories for me to take in because I noticed I started to get even fatter, and I was always full. But now that I'm restricting myself I'm actually getting stupid sweet cravings. I never had cravings for sweets ever. My thing was always burgers and chicken wings not fantasizing about cinnamon rolls or whatever

I've been noticing that I can gain muscle easily but I can gain fat such as fast. And it's subcutaneous fat not visceral so it's more annoying to get rid off.

I think I'm going to start meal prepping and try to eat the same thing everyday for two weeks and adjust from there. Rather than just cooking each meals separately

I weigh everything and track according to what the nutrition value on the pack of whatever it is I'm eating off says. I use MyFitnessPal. Here is what I'm going to stick to instead of just guessing what my next meal is going to be ;

Meal 1: 5 whole eggs, 2 packs of oats in water, 4oz banana 806kcal (91C/29F/44P)

Meal 2: 9oz chicken breast, 4oz sweet potatoes 330kcal (23C/12F/52P)

Meal 3 & 4: Same as Meal 2

Meal 5: 9oz Chicken breast, 1 container is green cut asparagus spears 298kcal (10C/2F/57P)

Postworkout shake or shake before bed; 2 scoops whey, 1 tblespoon organic PB 320kcal (8C/10F/52P)

Total: 2413kcal (179C/48F/310P)

Looks good. Just stick to it and be consistent. Takes time to transform your body. If you stick to it day in and day out you will get there.

Am I missing something here. Doing a quick search there is 68 calories per ounce of chicken and 24 calories per ounce of sweet potato. So that one meal equals 708 calories. Eat that 4 times a day and you get 2,832 calories.

Maybe he weighs everything before he cooks it so the weight is slightly off but still looks like he's eating over 3,000 calories a day.

He is using fitpal.. that as accurate as you can get and he weighs all his food...

When you Google some food the calories will not be accurate with fitpal..

I don't know if u ever used the app, but you can scan the packages you are using and it will lay out your calories.. you just have to adjust how much you are actually eating on the app

Give the app a shot.. you be surprise.
Maybe you are eating more or less....
I use this app from time to time and it gives me a good idea now on how much I eat without weighing my food...
The scanner thing is pretty neat

Sounds like it's very nice I guess I just know how my body responds to the amount of food I'm currently eating. And besides being a good conversation piece not sure I really care how many calories I'm eating.

Like I say i don't use it as often as I know how much I'm tracking.. only If I have something new for the day that I haven't scanned.. cause it's saves all the data...

If u know your calories then u don't need it I suppose

Cardio is 40min stairmaster immediately after weight training. Been thinking of adding 20min fasted cardio

Maybe he weighs everything before he cooks it so the weight is slightly off but still looks like he's eating over 3,000 calories a day.

Like bori said I use the app and you can scan the pack and it'll give you everything precise. I weigh everything cooked weight
