Just dropped off my ballot at the county elections office drop box. I'm sick of this - can't wait for next Wednesday and for this whole thing to be over.

The official tally will take a week to certify, but you'll know who won before the night is through. One of the two will concede.

You are actually the most embarrassed nation on earth right now.

It is truly a fucking joke that what was once supposed to be the most powerful nation can't even stop two total fuck wits taking over its people and you just sit there with your thumb up your ass working stink finger.

You just proved to the world that in fact you have no power at all

This post is in conflict with a man that says he's happy and content with life.

One minute your moving to Florida the next we're worse then Ethiopia. Lol

What's the real problem brother?

It's embarrassing that Trump got this far yes. But Hillary as unlikable as she can be is a career politician. She's absolutely qualified and certainly not a "fuckwit". She will be the next president and hopefully we've learned a little something about letting a whack job like trump get so far in the election process.

Again though I have to point my finger at rural America and the deep south. It's not the northern states that would ever vote for such a man. It's not the west Coast. It's Fred T Hillbilly, and John Jacob Redneck from places like Alabama, Tennessee, and Georgia.

Real Americans look at states like that in the same way that a Brit looks at Ireland or Scotland... ;)

I see, but she deleted 30,000 emails that were to be investigated.

And yet she's allowed to run for President.

I think as you say she will get the job though

Well, looks like the white guys in this country have spoken. They want to have a racist, xenophobic, misogynist who sold them a bill of goods, in power. As a person of color, I guess I have to think about how this makes me feel in America.

Good luck fellas, we are all going to need it. Dow is already down below 9/11 levels. Just watch as Trump drives the deficits sky high and do his supply side economics that every 1 percenter will take laughing to the bank. If any working class white guy things their lot is going to be better with Trump, they are going to be even more bitter in 4 years. And anyone who needs medical assistance or support of any kind, well heaven help your souls.

She's no more crooked than any other politician. But this guy is a fucking sociopath. Even if I was a Republican, there's no way I would have voted for him in the primary, and no way I would have voted for him in the general.

Well, unless something dramatic happens, we are all going to find out in January what President Trump is going to do. Better buckle up, it's going to be a wild ride. With the GOP controlling the senate and the house, who knows what's going to come. This is uncharted territory, no question about it.

As a 1%er, I'm fine and I'll be fine. In fact, I'll probably see my income go up a good deal with the tax cuts that the top brackets will get. Yay for me!

However. I pity the blue collar workers of the country, the disabled, the people who depend on welfare. They are going to be surely disappointed. But hey, they can take their frustrations out on the Muslims, the blacks and Mexicans who apparently ruined their lily white country.

I have the ability to move anywhere I want. I could probably make a phone call tomorrow and get a job in Europe or Asia or Canada. But I would rather work here. I don't think things will be dramatically different for me personally. I have a well paying job, insurance through work, etc. Realistically, the only thing I have to be concerned about is some guy taking a shot at me because I am a person of color. Which, considering I am in a very liberal part of the country, is rather unlikely.

But the situation is not so easy for a lot of people. I am afraid this is open season on Muslims and Hispanic immigrants. Trump has relentlessly courted the racists, the extremists on the extreme right. The KKK has endorsed him and he has been ambivalent in rejecting them. He has come out strongly against blacks, hispanics, muslims, with no subtlety whatsoever, painting a broad brush to create his own flawed narrative and not recognizing legitimate grievances of these communities. If I was one of them, I would be very nervous. Very nervous indeed.

Make no mistake - what America has seen today is what Van Jones called a whitelash. It is white America saying in no uncertain terms that it does not like the changing demographics of the country. Where this will go, I don't know. But anyone who says this is just about economics is either lying or hopelessly disconnected with the experiences of people with color in this country.

Interesting scrim. As an outsider and somebody who voted brexit, I can tell you in so far as my vote, it was not racism, it was about competent self governance.

My take on the US is that people are so disenchanted with the establishment that they are voting against it.

It's always a risky situation when that happens because they vote for anyone with strength that represents a perceived alternative.

It's now down to who he picks in his administration and the senate

It is interesting (and I am not talking about you), people don't think they are racist but their actions belie their beliefs. The affliction is really insidious.

Note what Trump was. He was/is a raging racist. When he was a landlord in New York, he would regularly deny occupancy in his buildings to black renters, which was against the law. You cannot do that. He CLEARLY courted the far right during this election cycle. Every loony white supremacist, KKK, type group was in his camp, and he would NOT reject or repudiate them. He built his campaign on hate for the folks who are conveniently different - black, hispanic, muslim. They were either thugs, rapists, or terrorists. Broad brush, no subtlety. And no solutions, just take a giant hammer to them - either the belong in jail, on the other side of the wall, or dead. Let's be very clear- his campaign fed on the insecurities that white Americans felt, either overtly or unconsciously.

The parallels to Hitler are always something one should do carefully, but this process of creating a convenient scapegoat to blame real or imagined problems on is a time-honored technique used be demagogues through the ages.

Trump always raged about "Making America Great Again." About taking it back to when it was great again. When was that exactly? In the fifties? Before civil rights when the country was lily white and blacks were neatly tucked away in powerless positions? Or further back when the KKK was terrorizing minorities? Trump's entire campaign was built on a nostalgia for an America gone by - an America of, by and for whites. If anyone is honest, they will see the truth in this.

The most disppointing thing in this whole sorry eposide is that so many whites supported this guy. i don't care what his economic or other policies were - just his character was enough for me to reject him. But that didn't happen. Which is why I say that this was without any question a "whitelash." It was a reaction by white America who had enough of 8 years of a black president, or immigrants who didn't look like them. It was a yearing for a time when there weren't these kinds of inconveniences to sully their utopia.

I am sure many of you will say 'well, that's not true." But as a person of color, I am telling you how we feel. You should listen and believe that what we feel is real, even if you don't feel it too.

Just remember which states voted for who instead of classifying america as a whole as a bunch of dipshits.

Like I said earlier, it's rural America. The north east, the west coast aka the enlightened states did not vote for Trump.

I simply underestimated how many rural dipshits this country has.

You can't argue how somebody feels. I respect your views hear I can tell it's from the heart.

Going forwards it's important as a country you pull behind the work ethic and I think this can work really well.
