Strange to see lemons in January and Sunshine like summer. I'm still used to it being 13 degrees this time of year with a foot of snow on ground. Why does anyone live anywhere else?

If I could pick my property up and move it to Cali I would but no way could you pay me to live there. Packed in like sardines. Not my style but definitely fun to visit.

Packed in like Sardines? I don't live in the city bro, I live in burbs. But I guess to someone that lives in literally the woods even the burbs is packed?

Try living in uptown Chicago or just outside NYC. Now that was packed in like Sardines. Compared to that I'm in the country now!

True but I've quickly become what I always blamed beast of being. A "fair weather faggot". 50 and below in the morning and I'm freezing my tits off.

Yeah, I'm sure it's different than Chicago. For me I just love nature. When I look out my windows I don't want to see anyone. Just trees animals. Couldn't imagine living anywhere else.

As much as you like "scenic views" would you enjoy living in the country? I'm far enough out that it seems remote but can be to a grocery store, gym, ect.. in 10 minutes.

Beautiful view, but California isn't for me either. Great state to visit and vacation but I don't have that fuzzy warm feeling of wanting to live there.

Seems like you have the best of world's there, I love the pictures I see of florid but it seems a bit much to have glaring heat all year round. In NorCal it seems there is weather change and lush vegetation but even in winter it just doesn't get severe.

part of that may have to do with the fact that the whole time you were here it was raining. you literally came the the 3 days last year SoCal got rain.

That was my 3rd time in California. First time was in '06, I stayed in Monterey, but traveled to San Francisco, San Jose, and Fremont.
2nd time was in 2008, I was in Fremont.
3rd time was LA.

It's great and all, but not for me.

I live in Columbia, MD good sir. Howard County to be exact. We're in the top 10 wealthiest counties in the nation.

Baltimore is just the bastard child 20min North of us.

Dana is nuts. I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and even I'll be the first to admit Cali has us beat for weather.

Massive rain is coming. I move out here and decade long drought ends. Can't be a coincidence...

My initials also happen to match Jesus Christ. Another coincidence? You be the judge...

I read that that over the next 5 days the same amount of rain that will fall on Northern and Central California is = to the amount of water in the entire mississippi river. That's insane to me.

We are already 75% above average rain fall and snow pack in the mountains for the year. The following 5 days will put us something like 500% above average. Supposed to get more rain in certain areas then has fallen in over 25 years. No doubt there will be flooding.

Ain't that bad. I've always lived 15min-20min south of there and trust me I've seen my share of shady shit, stabbings, shootings, blood, etc...

DC is 40min away from me, and that place is sketchy 24/7.

My buddy that used to be a Baltimore City cop said it is bad, however, with backup being 40s away, they usually wait until they arrive before approaching the suspect.

For awhile, I thought about applying to that department.

So, we got about 12-14" of snow yesterday. Biggest snowfall in about 25 years.

Here's video from the Oregon zoo... watch the first minute of the polar bear playing in the snow and you've got to smile and feel mad at zoos at the same time. You can feel the excitement of the bear. I hate to see these animals cooped up in unnatural environments.

I imagine I'll probably move up and down the coast at some point just for the experience but I don't think out of state no.

Only thing I miss about back east is the mom and pop pizza, sub, cheese steak shops. They just don't have that culture in Cali. They know how to do great food out here but not junk food. We pretty much have to make pizza's and Stromboli ourselves here.

California is the best. We also have the 5th largest economy in the world and currently have a 2.6 billion dollar surplus in our budget. Cali should be the model for the rest of the states. Follow our lead!
