Due to a critical security flaw with Intel processor devices the upcoming patch will slow all devices by up to 30%..

This is going to effect almost all of us. Slowing down our shit by 30%, fucken crazy.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-c...KBN1ES1BO?il=0

(Reuters) - A design flaw has been found in microprocessors made by Intel Corp (INTC.O) that requires updates to computer operating systems, a tech publication reported, adding that the fix causes the chips to operate more slowly.

The defect affects the so-called kernel memory on Intel x86 processor chips manufactured over the past decade, The Register reported citing unnamed programmers, allowing users of normal applications to discern the layout or content of protected areas on the chips.

That could make it possible for hackers to exploit other security bugs or, worse, expose secure information such as passwords, thus compromising individual computers or even entire server networks.

“The effects are being benchmarked, however we are looking at a ballpark figure of a five to 30 percent slowdown, depending on the task and the processor model.”

It does suck but what program(s) do you use that utilizes high CPU usage? The "average" user won't even notice the difference as they browse the internet. Now hopefully Intel fixes this issue quick because a lot of business that run heavy programs will definitely be impacted.

Speak for yourself.

When Bouncer puts on the face paint every night and goes on covert missions deep behind enemy lines, that small performance loss may make the difference between success and failure of the mission.
