I watched a documentary today about this guy that did a 60 day fast only drinking water and juicing. He was pretty overweight and on a ton of prescriptions. He lost like 100lbs and came off all his meds. Its on Netflix, "Fat, sick and nearly dead"

But it made me think that doing a fast like that might be a good idea every now and then. Just to kinda clean your system out and reboot things. So I've been looking at juicers. Anybody out there into juicing or know of a good machine I should look at??

Well, its easier to make a jug of juice then carrying a cooler of fruit. But I think juicing made it so you absorb more nutrients.

You add anything green, it's pretty much the kiss of death as far as taste is concerned IMO. If you can stomach it, great. But for me, I prefer to cook my greens.

Yeah juicing is great. People say you don't get the fiber, but there are other sides who say there are healing properties in the water that come from the juice itself. Like the water out of a stalk of celery.

I make Celery, Cucumber, Lemon, carrot and Ginger juice regularly. Tastes great. I don't juice fruit because there is way too much sugar/fructose. If you are going to do it, keep the sugar down.

Also just fasting in general with only water for a few days is incredibly beneficial. Which I try to do as well at least 1-2 days per month. Read this:

False bro....I make ED kale, fruits, flax and protein powder and it taste fucking good....and yes I've done it without the powder and still taste good...have you actually had one and if so, what was in it? I use to think the same about greens in my shakes and boy was I wrong

Huh?

The sugars from the fruit is good. And if you train, which I assume you don't, then no need to worry about the sugars, especially if you have a clean eating regimen

Bro Science Alert!

Not true. Sugar from fruit is fructose and it is no better for you than reglar white table sugar. Actually many studies show fructose to be worse than regular sucrose as far as it's effects on contributing to fatty liver disease. The little bit of sugar in a packet of oatmeal isn't going to hurt, but a giant glass of fructose probably isn't that great based on the research I've seen.

I can't believe you said "the sugars from the fruit is good". Sugar is Sugar bro. Check the science.

You think sugar from fruit is good for you? I don't think it has anything to do with whether you train or not. It's bad if some young person comes to this site for diet and health advice and reads this type of thing.

Look up fatty liver disease and fructose.

I do a juice cleanse every once in a while. I usually last 4-5 days. You can definitely feel a difference with energy levels.

very good. Forgot about that one. My only complaint is when the 1st ingredient is apple juice. They do it because its a cheap filler

Yea , they have a couple decent drinks. Especially is i need something in a pinch. I need a juicer.. this way i get it all, no waste and get the added benefits of missing nutrients found in the skin or rind, that normally we wouldnt eat.

Naked is owned by Pepsi. Mountain Dew and Naked Green Machine have more in common than being green: they both have about 60 grams of sugar in a bottle.

Not a good choice what so ever. That company has been sued quite a bit recently for deceptive b.s..

I'd stay away from those drinks

A link to the article that you used in the beginning of your post Is Naked Juice Healthy? | The Rebooted Body.

I thought you were a proponent of fresh fruit. Weren't you eating tons of it recently?

Still do.

My post is about the drink, not real fruit.

Thanks for adding the link though.
