Do they have to be sterile? GPZ is out of 0.45 micron sterile and researchkits has been having trouble filling orders lately. I can get non-sterile at GPZ. If anyone knows another place that is reliable let me know. Thanks

I understand your reasoning behind that (0.2 micron), but everyone uses 0.45 micron. The 0.2 is made for water based filtration and the 0.45 for oil. I started to get the 0.2 but opted for the 0.45 instead. I might try a 0.2 soon though. Obviously it would clean the soln better. I was just afraid that it might clog too easily and I'd have to use too many of them.

Hello candle25 :)
Even using many 0.2 filters isn't bad for their purpose IMO. Except if you treat your juice with such sterilization methods that you kill spores as well.
Personally, when i switch to injections (i am using that transdermal we were talking about back then) i will be taking every measure against even viruses, which means clivation, 0.2 filtering and BA 2-3%. All these cause i want to put inside the least BA possible.
So it may be a bitch to make the oil pass from a 0.2 filter but why not save yourself from any BA pain?

I have put 200mL oil+BB+BA through a 0.2 micron filter without clogging. It takes a bit more hand pressure but that's a small price to pay for peace of mind. If you are converting from pellets, you would need to prefilter through some other filter first so that there are no obvious particulates and then clogging shouldn't be a problem.Originally posted by candle25
