Bump, i want help on this too. Im 8 weeks out, and i have ideas, not sure how i wanna go as far as carb loading, shit loading, and water munipulation.

BOUNCER is our top competitor, and since this is his board, i hope he feels the need to chime in and hit us with some valuable information. From what pix i remember seeing of him on elite, he was sick ripped.

Last week is a tuff one...and there are a lot of different ideas. I can share with you my last week I plan on doing for a show coming up in May (12 weeks away). This is what I have followed in the past anyway......

Monday, Tues, Wednes > Light Weights, High Reps. Take it easy and get plenty of rest. By this time you will more than likely be tired and cranky and ready for it to be over. I would drop my carbs to LOW these days while maintaining or even slightly increasing my protien.

Also, no sodium and continue NORMAL water intake.
Starting on Thursday morning I would introduce carbs again at a moderate rate while at the same time slowly reducing my water intake. No more real workouts; wouldn`t matter now anyway.

      Practice POSING.
Thursday night begin to apply tanning stuff.

Friday - (weigh in on Friday night)
Continue with Protien and moderate carbs > I wouldn`t neccessarily "LOAD". Continue to minimize water. Don`t forget you want to make your weight tonight!! You don`t want to hope to compete in the lightweight division only to end up on the low end of the scale in the Middleweight division with guys that have 20 more pounds of muscle than you.
      :agree:

      Practice Posing and apply tan.

Saturday morning. Try to peg what time you will have prejudging. Have a nice breakfast with some Carbs and Sugars (Help fill you out , but not so much that you will look bloated). Maybe another coat of tan in the morning. Take some small meals with you. Still NO WATER except for enough to sip on with your meals. Pump up and go out for the prejudging.

Most decisions are made during pre-judging so just relax and have fun and wait for the night show. Continue to eat moderatley during the day (you still want to look good for your posing routine).

That `s just me bro. Everybody is different.

I did my first show this past summer. Your posing is as important as your diet. I don't feel I know enough about diets yet to give a helpful opinion. One thing is for sure you can definatly look at the lineup and tell who practiced their posing. If it were me I would run through my mandatory poses every day. As far as tanning you may want to airbrush tan then apply protan. Those lights will wash you out if your not dark enough. I hope this helps you guys.Good Luck!

yeah, the link that New_Mass attached is a great one. I have read just about every single article on that web site about contest prep. Everybody is a little different, but really cool to see how everybody gets ready.
