  • Q for the competition guys...

I know that this should be in the nutrition section or diet but I really would like to get some ideas from an experienced gear users.

    Question relates to cutting.
I am 4 weeks into a Test Deca and Dbol Cycle. I was about 18%BF going in and believe it or not I think I actually lost slight amounts so far around the waiste but nothing much really.
When I complete my cycle my question is what has worked really well for you when cutting down for competition?
I am 180lbs hoping to put on another 10-12 if I am lucky or more. Like most I would like to get to 10% by June?
Can anyone lend some great experienced ideas or methods?
If you keep even a log of meals or something feel free to pm me or email me.
    Thanks
    Smitty

Bro if your hitting a show in june, 10% isnt low enough. The last one i did i hit right around 3 or 4% , My cutting ccyle was test prop fina, winny and i took clen and eca stack for two weeks on two off. The last six weeks before the show i hit t-3 along with the clen and eca . But for the most part your diet has to be on I probly spent as much time with my diet and preparing foods and measureing them out than acually training (lol). Just remember the two most important things diet and cardio!

10% is definitely not low enough when competing. I would focus more on your diet then your cycle.

If your diet is in check try running a prop/fina/halo cycle. Should keep you looking very hard with minimal water gain.

Sorry I was not specific in my question. Thanks for the cycle ideas though.
I am not competing. I just would like to have at least a small 6 pack for summer but struggle with diet. When your cutting can you give me examples of meals or things like that? I am about 16% And I figure if you cometition guys can cut to 4 or 5% then I should be able to cut to 10 with some ideas.
        Thanks

Everyone needs to read that one again a little closer. He wants to get down to 10% by summer. He was wondering what works well for cutting and he was asking those who have competed. I liked T-3 and clen/eca stack. If using t-3 i suggest being on some type of AS. If I were you I'd look at your diet and cardio regimen first and foremost first. What types of food are you eating, how many carbs/fats are you taking in daily?

here is how I usually figure it out. . .

take your bodyweight in lb and you have how many grams protein you will need as a start point
so lets just put it at 200g/day to start.
            200g protein = 800 cals
            100 grams carbs/day = 400 cals
fats (from flax, fish oil, extra virg olive oil) 75g = 675
            total cals = 1875
this holds with the classic bodyweight*12 - 500 cals diet formula a lot of people use. . .
it is a bit higher but each person is individual so you have to experiment. . .
so you need 6 meals of about 315 cals each. . .
use this as a atart point and every week do 3 days of slightly higher carbs (150g per day) and then drop back down to 100g for 4 days. . .
monitor your weight and bf (using the same technique each time once per week) and ajust cals from there.

This is just one way to do it. . .there are lots out there but give it a go and see what happens. . .consistancy is the key to any diet program. . .stick with it and don't miss meals. .log everything.
TO get to 10% you do not need t-3 or clen. .just a good eca stack.
            keep safe

1875 cals for a 200lb guy seems really low to me...you go that low pre-contest? when is your comp weight and how much weight do you lose each week eating that low. i weight 210 and i'm terrified to go lower that 2400....

Well I had myself down to about 1400-1600 cals a day for a while and tried to keep up with high protein. I weigh about 178lbs now but have that oh so hated extra around the mid section and I am sick of it. I did cardio I did low carb, quite a bit but I just thought if I asked someone who knows how to get down to 4-5% then I should be able to make 10 and lose the mid section!!
