Buddy of mine just made some fina. did do all the steps right, but instead of waiting overnight for the coffee filter to drain he used sterilized rubber gloves and just gradually squeezed the finaplex through the coffee filter. Then also did the final filter stage and baked it for 20 mins. Think he'll be ok and no problems with bacteria??

The final filtering is the most important part. The BA/BB are just added precaution as well as solvents. The 1st filteration is mainly to remove the binders so they wont gum up the syringe filter. It sounds like he'll be fine. -

the ba is to sterilize.....the hot to kill and bacteria....

there is no need to bake, it does nothing. Using a .45 um filter will get out 99.999% of anything you need to worry about.Comment

If you are unsure run it through a .20 filter. that will eliminate any spores and any other nasty bacteria in it..Comment
