  • O/T UPS "Exception" Status???

I recently mailed a package that I was watching by the tracking number. It was from the US to Canada. It was moving quickly untill it got to Canada. The new status says "Exception. Contact UPS for details." What does this mean? Anyone ever have this happen?

anytime a package is delayed past the commited delivery time for any reason it is entered as an exception- UPS and FED-EX have tougher customs standards than the post office and their packages are more likely to be inspected than postal packages- an exception scan can mean there is a bad or illegible address, weather delay, security delay or that the package was inspected by customs (not UPS) and held.

Thanks Breeze. I called UPS and they said that the package made it through customs but the driver was unable to deliver it. They said they don't know why but to call back tomorrow. My house is def clean. I'll clean out the computer tonight.

OK. Status was changed to delivered at 7:30 last night. That sounds great but does UPS deliver that late?

Also it's harder to track once it leaves the US, HELL I know when I send xmas presents back home and try to track it, it becomes a nightmare, status is always delayed or something like that. Glad your starbucks coffee made it through.
