  • You've Got a Big Mouth

    Every now and then the old phase;

“Sticks and Stones may break my bones but Words will never hurt me” pop’s into my mind, as these New Jack’s fight it out on in the magazines and on the Net, regarding who’s better than whom.

I can’t speak for everyone but being from the Old School, the guys I came up with in the sport never bought into a war of words with other athletes. In this day and age all the boys are fighting for publicity or a piece of the pie. There is plenty of dough to go around in the sport but few guys willing to bust their humps to make it.

The convenient alternative is to talk Smack and get rise out of your competition or better yet, get your name in print!

The up an coming guys who are barely wet behind the ears, are barking loudly about what all their going to do when they hit the stage or who ass their going to beat bla, bla, bla…. Is it entertainment? Not from where I sit.

Most of these guys come into the game and last but a couple years at best. Their mouths are writing checks their butts can’t cash!

One good show and they think they’re going to turn the sport upside down.

    Reality check:
One show doesn’t make a career. Eventually, your reputation will have to stand on the physique that got you to the Big Leagues and if you can’t cut the mustard, you will be dismissed and disliked by all whom you thought once loved your big mouth!

    New Jack’s crack me up.

Earning pro cards at 35,36 & 37 years old doesn’t sound like a career that is going to take you from rags to riches, no matter what a Drug Guru promises you!

In this business, you reap what you sow. Age doesn’t have to factor into the sport when you handle your business in the gym and later on the stage. Magazine wise cracks don’t pay the bills. It will get you a headline from time to time but at the end of the day, the fans come to see the Finalists!

You have to kick ass and take names from the first set to the last rep!

When you can survive the “Pay your dues” level of the Pro game after 3-5years, then maybe if you’re lucky, you can start to see a return on the time you have invested in this business. Qualifying for and competing in the Mr. Olympia are like night and day!

Being in the big show isn’t what dreams are made of. Competing in the big show can make a dream become a Reality!

Most New Jack’s love to talk smack on the guys that have been dominating the game. These guys have watched us shape the sport of professional bodybuilding and they hope to come along and shake things up with loud talking and not much else.

These guys know who they are. They usually come out of the amateur ranks and place well in a show or two. Then suddenly, they are ready to kick the veterans in the ass and disrespect them before every having a chance at standing next to them onstage.

Later the “I’m just happy to be here” crap comes flying out of their mouths when things don’t go the way they planned and they land way down the list with every excuse in the book including, “I forgot top carb up” line.

I find it offensive that these guys feel the need to go WWF on the veterans then cower down when they get smoked in head to head competition!

I say shut the hell up and train! Time is short for these Old Rookies!

The days of turning pro at 21, 23 or 25 years old are over!

The ever-elusive pro card a waits for most new pros after they turn 30 to 35 and the stats back this fact up!

Time is short for guys this age to make much of anything out of a career spent pursuing the pro card much less, spend the time once you’re there bashing guys who inspired and paved the way for you to even dream of being a pro!

We veterans aren’t asking for respect but these New Jack’s are a product that was sold to them as kids growing up in the computer age and the age of slamming people to get a rise out of dissing someone to make themselves look good!

    News Flash!

This is a sport of grown men and acting like children on the net because someone say’s something that doesn’t sit well with you. Stating an opinion doesn’t open the door for Bashing and Bitching about who’s better than whom.

Respect is a two way street. Now we have Drug Guru’s bashing established pros. Girlfriends and wives defending their husbands with the future bodybuilders in high school wondering where this will all lead to and if it is even real or not?

A word to the wise, think before opening your mouth regarding veterans who have spent their lives making this sport what it is today. It is the work they have dedicated themselves to that even gave you New Jacks a place to vent.

Like us or not, we have earned the right to analyze, criticize and breakdown the New Jack’s as they come up from the amateur ranks. Our opinions of these guys are respected from the magazine editors in relation to where we stand as a sport, as compared to where we are as a sport.

New Jack’s, shut up and train.

Kick butt in the gym and stop putting your feet in your mouth as you diss the veterans because eventually, you may have to stand next to us and prove your right to be on the same stage.

These New Jack’s know who they are and we will all be looking forward to what you’ll have to say the next time you pop off at the mouth…..Say wha…?

If you can’t take criticism of your physique, get out of the game before it is too late.

Popping off at the mouth will not get you first place in a show; it won’t even get you remembered for your physique when the show is over.

What will be remembered is you got Punked!

Don’t start something in an article, on the net or in a magazine that you may have to live with for the rest of your life because you were too busy dogging everyone that you forgot to look in the mirror!

                hey bro damm good post

but for me I was one of the loud ass holes in the begining.

because my first show I thought I was the shit I finished top five
and little did i now that the show was a open walk on and every body was a fucken wanta be.I did not no this intell my next show were i finished next to last because it was a level 2 comp and most of the guys new their shit I felt like a terd in a puch bowl.I mean I came in at 215 or so 5.6 %bf I was put back in my place
and shut my cake hole up.

It took another 2 years to be able to step back on the stage this time I was all grown up in means of bodybuilding. This time it was a level 4 comp and it was 1 step torwards typhoon bay the biggest comp the winner would be able to compete in the mr USA.
thats right boys a pro card.but any way.

I FUCKING FINISHED 2 PLACE and I was the biggest mofo their and the leanest 230# 4.5% on a 5"11 frame.Man I was pissed I asked a couple judge's why I finished 2 they said that I looked great pro material for sure BUT BUT my program my posses
needed alot of work and I will never for get what the one judge told me he said it's one thing to be lean and have the muscle but YOU HAVE TO BE ABLE TO PRESENT IT ON STAGE. thats why I finished 2.

SO my hats of to you bouncer great post and for the first timers that compete look at who you competeing againest. Then compere your self to a pro.If you look as good as he doe's then talk shit if you DON'T THEN SHUT YOUR HOLE.

Well Shawn Ray wrote it, so it wouldn't seem odd that he would use "us" and "we" when refering to the pros.
