don't waste your money on your cycle now. increase your protein intake so that you're eating at least 2 grams of protein per LBM and then when you're eating consistently like that and hit a plateau, consider AAS.
you're not gaining because you're not feeding your muscles.

I don't believe he has started yet. He's just asking how much protein to take while on his cycle.Originally posted by sana

As per your question kenk, I agree with the_inkslinger. Eat every two hours and certainly keep it around 40 - 50mg per meal. That's about what the body can process on gear. Off gear it's usually arounf 25 - 35mg per meal - but that's not for certain.
There aren't that many supps out there that pack 60mg of protein or more per serving and for good reason. Killer on the kidneys and a waste of money.
I also agree with sana. Get your diet and routine up there first. Eat every two hours and get use to it. Then add the gear. Otherwise, you are cheating yourself out of maximum gains. Also, drink plenty of water or protein synthesis (and the rest of your bodily functions) won't be optimal.
When you do go on, think about a multivitamin twice a day and some B12, whether the B12 is injectable or liquid form from GNC. You'll want about 1000mcg per serving.
Also think about something for that liver with the Wniny. Liv52 is good and/or milk thistle.
Cheers!

I eat around 40 grams per meal. Mostly all the protein I eat comes from tuna and chicken, eggs, and my shakes. Each can of tuna has arround 36-40 grams of protein. I usually eat 2-3 cans a day, 2 chicken breasts, my 3 whole eggs in the morning, a sandwich loaded with alot of ham and a yogurt, and for dinner i eat some boiled eggs, before going to bed i take my shake. At times i calculate around 250-300 grams of prtein a day. Im currently eating 6 meals a day.
Start off small bro. Save your roids for a month or 2. Start off eating 4-5 meals a day with alot of protein, then little by little space out a meal so u can add another one. So u have six meals. Try consuming around 40 grams of protein first thing in the morning, since the body grows while ur alseep, u need some in the morning, and another 40 before going to bed. Try eating alot of eggs, milk, cheese, yogurt, chicken, meats (good meats), tunas, nuts, and your protein shakes.
This is a sample the times i eat:
9am: 3 whole eggs, 2 slices of bread, banana, and a shake
11:30: pasta with some chicken or meat
2:00: a can of tuna w/chips
3:30: snack pb sandwich or ham w/milk
6:00: chicken breast, rice w/water
7:00: WORKOUT
9:00: can of tuna w/water
11:00: 6 egg whites w/water
before going to bed: a banana and a shake
so far so good, been gaining good. Right now im at 220, maintained this weight for a while now, but for me to gain i need to add some more protein or a meal.

Regardless of water intake, the body just cannot use an exorbanent amount of protein. As a matter-of-fact, high protein intake increaes the acid load on the kidneys which raises the risk of kidney stones. It also can rob the body of other vital nutrients, especially electolytes - more importantly calcium. Protein also increases nitrogen balance in the blood. In the kidneys this nitrogen is converted to urea. Higher the urea, the more the kidneys need to work. This urea is obviously disposed of in the form of urine.Originally posted by al the chemist
excess protein could be disposed of with the added water your supposed to drink while on cycle, and would not be as harsh on the kidneys, so as long as your drinking suffiecient water there shouldnt be any problem eating as much protein possible
Combined with a low card diet, this is more of a risk.
Yes, water intake should be a high priority - especially when bodybuilding and taking in that much protein. But it will not "save" you from potential damamge to the kidneys.
Bottom line is if you are taking too much protein, your doctor will find creatinine or urea nitrogen and the urine most likely will contain protein. If you experience kidney pains - pains on the side of the lower back - then see a doctor and get a test done.
Even though excess protein is disposed of in the urine (which isn't a good sign to begin with anyway), why do it? It's a waste of money. ;)
As a body builder, the 1.5 - 2 grams per pound of lean body weight "rule" has been time tested - Broken up over 6 small meals a day. Stick with that. :)

Yes very true decadan, but protein toxicity so to speak would not occur unless he was taking in like 3 to 4 times his body weight in protein...everything you said assosciated with the kidneys is very true, but is also caused by dehydration, so if properly hydrated i dont see a problem with him eating as much protein as possible, i doubt he will get anywhere near 600 g of protein a day considering hes only eating 130 g right now...

I do agree with you regarding the possability that it may be alright, but why risk it? Why eat more than you need to - if you're just going to waste it and your money?Originally posted by al the chemist

A 200 pound individual eating 1.5 grams of protein per pound of body weight over 6 meals a day is getting 50 grams of protein per serving. Even at THAT rate, there may still be a loss of protein consumption - regardless of water intake.
But, it has been said that 1.5 - 2 grams per pound of body weight is key to gaining mass and that is with the consideration of AAS.
Stick with what works. Even big guys like Dexter Jackson, Jay Cutler, and Johnie Jackson follow this rule.
Cheers! :)
