  • Steroids and depression

I hope this thread gathers experiences of the various bros who are lifting but suffer from depression. Whe are not few bros and we should act more wisely against depression. I was fine until i did 2 test and bold minicycles. During the second cycle my period of feeling best ever started to finish.

I told my psychiatrists what was going on. He yieled to me more for using test than for the slin.... Then i decided to stop the cycle so i went on clomid. And then the tears came. I was so depressed at the time that i cryied all day. Still, 3 weeks later, i am crying very often many tmes without reason. Clomid effect or what?

So let's talk about what we should avoid. For me clomid test deca dbol anything having to do with estrogen is nr. one.

I was thinking about oxandrolone. What is your opiion on that?

Well put it this way, i always feel down after a cycle, either its from the test levels being out of balance or its the fact that mentally I know that my body wont be so anabolic as it was in the cycle, as far as certain compounds more than others, well anything that changes ure hormones will affect u mentally as soon as ure off, I think whats best is being realistic mentally realizing that ure body is going thru a rebound effect and that things will take some time to get back to normal

crazy, here's my simple advice just make sure u have people around u who are supportive and try to let them know what to look for to make sure ure not in a long long rebound, if ure noticing coming back after a cycle takes a long time try running HCG throughout so that ure natural test levels dont drop too terribly aslo Ive known in my exp to run clomid and nolva throughout a cycle so help with the estrogenic sides and estrogenic mental effects
just talk to us bro we all go thru the clomid blues

bro the clomid made it worse. use novaldex from now on for PCT. clomid can give estrogen like affects to guys that are not pleasant. Try some proviron as well in your next pct or during your cycle it will keep your free test elavated while you not being on the gear.

bro - if you already suffer from depression, you need to stop all steroid use, period. you have psychiatrist? so you are obviously trying to work out some issues already. stay away from gear - it will only make your problems seem worse. suicides from steroid related depression are almost always due to a pre-existing condition. you sound like a prime candidate to me.

yeah adding to goliaths post, were you in a depressive state before gear or was it a result of being on the gear that gave you the bout of depression?

Yes, I was being (succesfully) treated for depression before starting to juice.

Please don't let me down, tell me there is something I can take to gain... Are you sure I souldn't even try oxandrolone?

well the problem isn't the roids, its the let down from being off them when you go off your cycle. the crash you experience when your body is trying to readjust itself after your cycle. so add that to the depression you already treated and it will bring it right back on. If you do plan a cycle in the future (which I am not condoning it) then you should pick substances that don't crash your system hard. anavar and primo are good choices. other than that I will just warn to be careful as a lot of good bros get depression bad from going off cycle and sometimes it can lead to bad situations. stay safe.

                        Bro,

I use to suffer from depression too and still do sometimes. I was on almost everything back in the day. Zoloft. Paxel. Lithium for a year and a half. One thing is for sure. Simple things like diet and hydration can help A LOT with mood and chemical balance.

Caffeine can cause some sides as well for depressed people and in some cases effect medication.

Gear is certainly not a good idea if you suffer from depression at an above "normal" range. If you feel compelled to seek treatment, then there is a level of depression there that needs to be addressed on a regular basis. Gear is NOT going to help that at all. Especially, coming off of it.

Clomid certainly seems to make guys feel a little sad or get the "Clomid Blues." For that reason, I stay FAR away from it and just using HCG and Nolvadex.

If before - you felt like your depression was controllable - mentally. And you felt like you had a handle on it. Then it may very well be the Clomid amplifying the depression.

If you have ANY Nolvadex on hand, stop the Clomid and use the Nolvadex. Also, it would have been a good idea to use HCG.

I am not condoning the use of steroids AT ALL. But perhaps with a little more research and a little more understadning, you'll know for the future.

You're on a rollercoaster Bro. Treating depression with medication to maintain a chemical balance. Yet, with gear, you're throwing your hormonal balance off. Seems like a lot of work.

Get the depression taken care of first and maintained.

Most of all... Pray. He is ALWAYS there for you. :)

                        Cheers!

Through research and stuff I'm starting too believe HCG is very very important, when the AS shuts down natural test, it seems your own leuteninzing hormone gets shut down too, and it seems that that is really a bad thing because the LH plays a big role in homeostasis of the body, meaning besides anabolic and androgenic effects it has so much effect on everything else when it is low or nill problems develope.

Anyways, that aside, depression has too do mainly with low levels of serotonin, and AS is going to effect that and then add in the LH issue and it is dicey situation.

decadan makes all good points, especaily with HCG

Know it is tough, yet you need a very expereinced doctor to help you, try allthingsmale.com , it will cost you, yet, you need expert advice here, not some educated guesses, which is the best we can provide, not saying it is wrong our advice, just your situation you need professional advice all around.
