  • Humalog users, what EXACTLY are you eating post inject?

    I've been reading my ass off in regards to insulin as I've been thinking about taking the GH/Insulin leap lately. The initial thread question is fairly clear, what exactly are you guys eating and at what time intervals after your inject.

    Also if anyone has time can you check this out and tell me if I'm getting this correct. From what I understand I'd run it in 4 week on 4 week off interval/ I would do this at most twice and then get off for a while. I would start at 2 IU's as I'm going to be conservative and increase by 1 IU until I feel comfortable or until I get to 10 IU's. I would take this post workout only.

    Now information gets a little fuzzy after this as far as carb intake goes. I understand that I want to keep my fats low or even at 0, but the carb intake is throwing me off. I've read 10 grams of carbs to 1 IU is not absolutely necessary but a good rule of thumb. If I were to take 10 IU's post workout that would mean 100 grams of carbs. Would these carbs be taken in immediately to within the first 15 minutes or would I take around 60 grams of carbs immediately and spread the rest out over the next 40 minutes or so until I eat another wholesome meal Ex: Chicken and rice? Also for that second meal how many carbs are you looking to take in. And are these the only two meals you should be concerned about with regards to the humalog?

    Sorry this is longer than I thought it would be but Insulin is not something I want to play with if I'm not exactly sure how to take it.

    Im running Humulin-R not Humalog but there pretty similar so I would follow the same routine. Immediatly after my workout I shoot 15iu slin. About 5 min later I have 12oz grape juice mixed with 10g Creatine and 70g protein (Isopure). About an hour after that I have my Gen Tso's Chicken (Its in the recipe section) about an hour after that i have a 50g protein shake and some oatmeal and honey. Try and get in 3 big protein and carb meals in your post slin window.

      The benefit to Humulin-r over log is that you have a bigger window. Its also more dangerous and should only be used by people who know there body's.

        Yea, I was reading about the more anabolic effect of humulin-r over humalog because of the bigger window but the danger side is enough for me as a first time insulin user to go with humalog.

            I usually do a shot of humalog (10iu) , wait 15 min, then drink a carbo cooler (85 grams carb liquid form) and then one hour later have an MRP . . .then make sure to have some kind of carb and protein meal within the next hour after that. . .then you are clear. . .as bounce said it is a longer time with humulin-r so you need more meals. .6-7hours before it is totally gone versus 2-3 for humalog.

                I eat 0 % fat yogurt that has 35 grans of carbs and then I have a shake for the first spike the second is a shake and a full meal low fat.

                  I run Humalog.

                  Morning shot: Vitargo CGL 15 minutes after. Drink half the cup. Eat 3 twizzlers. Drink remaining 15 minutes later. Follow with Oatmeal with a scoop of Cinnamon Roll Protien powder and a scoop of Maltodextrin 30 minutes later.

                  Post Workout shot: Vitargo CGL with a scoop of unflavor Protien and a scoop of Maltodextrin. Drink all. Eat twizzlers on ride back from gym. Followed with a double protien shake then lunch.

                    i do 10 iu of log post workout with 65 grams of whey isolate and 80 grams of dextrose with 10 grams of creatine.

                    45minutes to an hour later i have a grilled chicken breast and rice or baked potato with salsa on it or sweet potatos.

                    i eat one more time before the slin looses its effect normally fat free yogurt with whey isolate mixed in or fat free cottage cheese and a low fat bagel.

                    i also take 3-4 enzyme tabs before each meal to speed digestion and absorbtion.

                      Vitargo is a great carb loader bro.. .good choice. Chad nichols uses it with his athletes. . :)

                          Scoop of phospagain and 2 scoops of ultra fuel right after the postworkout shot and then an hour later some type of carb heavy solid meal.
