  • Bloated like a slug! Help!

Starting my 3rd test-e only cycle soon. Been off the last one for about 4 months now. Respectable gains but bloat/water retention was pretty bad. I searched but need more up to date info about otc diuretics. What's the latest scoop on what works and what does'nt. Not interested in anything beyond otc stuff (yet), so lets start there.

You coud try 6-OXO an OTC AI (aromatizing Inhibitor) to help lower estrogen conversion thus less bloat from a test cycle. Next option would be diet and cardio.

6-OXO, contains a naturally occurring aromatase inhibitor that is devoid of any direct hormonal or prohormonal activity (androgenic or estrogenic). It is what science refers to as a "suicide inhibitor" of aromatase.

Assuming you are using the proper anti-e's the best OTC diuretic I have used and many other vets will concede is Taraxatone from any GNC. In three to five days you will dry out quite a bit and it is supposed to be somewhat mineral sparing.
It is a little expensive but not too bad. About $26 a bottle for a ten day supply. I would only use it for about three days ata time with plenty of water.

I use it on occassion with Deca and Drol since thier water is hard to shed. Just don't use it very often.

Bad news: OTC stuff isn't going to get the job done. You need an anti-e, like anastrozole or letrozole. You can order from one of your board sponsors, and have it within a matter of days. This is your best option...natural OTC diuretics are a waste of your time and money. Treat the problem, not the symptom.

I would stay away from diuretics as long as possible...they can be dangerous.

My first recommendation is to get an AI. Aromisin is really taking off lately and is the newer rave because of the positive effects it has and lack of negative effects on the body. Liquidex/arimidex is my next choice as far as pos/neg effects. Letro is last on my lits. It has been shown to have negative effects on lipid profiles amongst other things.

Use the AI only when the bloating is getting bad and only along side of Nolva. Nolva will help keep necessary estrogen where it should be. You still need a little aromatizing to stay healthy.

as noted letro is the way

Letrozol is femera, which is an anti-estrogen.

Femara is 10-30x more effective than Arimidex in it's ability to pass thru the cell membrane of lipid (fat) cells and inhibit the activity of aromatase -- in other words, Femara is far superior in lowering estrogen levels in fat cells. This has two benefits for BBs; (1) Estrogen 'attracts' water, so less water retention (2) an average male BB is around 10%BF, that's a lot of lipid cells with aromatase inside them, so a substantial percentage of aromatase is left untouched by Arimidex due to it's poor ability to enter lipid cellsArimidex is approximately 80% effective at inhibiting aromatase, Femara is around 95-97%

Everyone here is quick to jump on the "lets just jack in some anti e's" bandwagon when in reality water retention is hugely regulated by water intake AND carb intake. . .drop the carbs down gradually and replace those lost calories with fats (flax, udos oil, extra virgin olive etc) and protein. . you will eventually find the level that works for you.
Lots of guys struggle with water bloat on a cycle but anyone that has ever competed usually fugures this out after they change their diet up and start cutting. . .I dieted and got the most ripped I have ever been on 1200 mg test enanthate a week and I took NO anti e's for water retention.

good info here, although I agree that AI should only be used as a last resort. Nolvadex should the first stop. There is something wrong when the cheapest, most efective item is not the first choice. All most all AIs have the same problem, they work too well. Letro is the strongest one avalable, this it should be the last on the list as it is not needed for most things (200mg test base during show time, use letro )

BTW, Nolva and letro tend to canal each other out (40% or so) so that combo should be avoid. All other AI should be ran with nolva as shotz said.

Lot's of conflicting opinions here and as always, all are appreciated. If i see a common thread here it seems to be up the water and lower the carbs with maybe a little nolva thrown in during cycle. Correct?
