Flex had amazing shape and great genetics without a doubt. Too bad he trashed his body and has had so many health issues as of late (e.g. kidney transplant).

There is a pic in my gym that is black and white of him. He's standing up and just looking down at himself......really great picture. He definitely had one of the best physiques ever.

He had great genetics...that's for sure! You guys get a chance to read his book yet? I got bored this weekend and ripped through in at Borders with a large cafe mocha. I never realized that he came close to dying 4 times. First was his severe car accident which should have left him in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. Then multiple bouts with severe electrolyte imbalance due to his diuretic use.
Flex paints a very unappealing view of professional bodybuilding and the politics that are involved. He goes on to state (without any question or doubt) that "steroids" had nothing to do with his kidney problems. He actually has a rare kidney disease that seems to show up in African americans more so then in the rest of the population...suck's for him.
My gut instinct is his diuretic use had alot to do with his kidney damage and eventual retirement. Irregardless, the guy was an unbelievable bodybuilder in his prime.
