Yes it is confirmed that it's because of the 2008 Olympics. The fact is, as mentioned above, it doesn't fricking matter one way or the other. They could hold the fricking Olympics anywhere and 90% of the athletes are still going to be on some form of performance enhancing drug.
Even though China is still a communist state, they have caught on the capitalism in the past ten years and they are truthfully addicted to it. If people are making money over there illegally they will simply make pay offs because China remains corrupt to this day and I think everything wil be fine. It's actually quite nice that China gave the powder suppliers and UG four years notice to start work-arounds. I can see prices possibly rising for a short period but they'll be back to normal. In 2003 $300,000,000 was spent on AAS and it's projected in 2004 that number will reach $400,000,000. Simply too much money for people to quit doing what they're already good at.
