Markus Ruhl Out of the 2003 Mr. Olympia?
It looks like Markus Ruhl is out of the Olympia after tearing his triceps training last week, but don't count him out yet! According to various sources, around August 20th, Markus was training on the flatbench press, close to 260 pounds, when he felt a shock feeling in his triceps, but it was very mild. He continued to train throughout the week. On Friday, when he woke up, the area was full of blood and fluid in the lower triceps. He then drove down to Munich to the local German doctor guru, where they started to drain the fluid, and put some catheters in there. The doctors have said that this is a minor tear.
He had minor surgery in his triceps, and he did not completely detach it. Currently, he is still staying on his diet, and is walking around. He is in the hospital recovering in Munich, because they want to make sure there is no infections, and that the scars will be healing properly. We wish him the best to make a speedy recovery.
Markus has a guest posing in Virgina Beach at the NPC Armed Force which he will attend, but whether he will guest pose is a different story. The doctors said in two weeks he will be able to go back training, but there are other issues involved, like making sure the scars heal right. Since Markus was way ahead of schedule in his diet and traiing for the Olympia contest, Markus may well just not be out of the O. It is a long shot, but we will all know better in two weeks.
