  • Details: SLIN and CARBS??

Here's a little background. I've been searching all over this site and www.basskilleronline.com reading on slin for the last 8 to 10 months. I finally decided I knew enough to get on some in a month. At postworkout 2iu's working my way up, eat carbs instantly after with protein and carbs, no fat, blah blah blah... Here's my problem.
I am 230 right now and between 10-12% bodyfat (6pack barely hanging on). I have a strict (no drug time) eating regimen that includes 5 meals and major postworkout consumption. I currently eat 145 grams of carbs postworkout with 60 grams of protein and about 4grams of fat. 45 grams is simple sugars and the rest complex. What the hell should I do for postworkout meal right after my shot now that slin will be added in? Add another 50grams of carbs and knock it up to 200 for postworkout? Or should my current 145 be enough, and then just do the regular meal an hour later then another 2hrs after that? I doubt 145 will suffice after a legs day. Oh yeah I'll be taking Humulin-R. Thanks in advance.

Your 145g of carbs is too much. That will end up making you fat. You only need about 5-7g of carbs per iu, do about 10g per iu to be safe. The most important part is the protein. All them extra carbs are going to be stored away as fat.

LOL, I hate to break it to you bro. I eat 145 grams of carbs now and have been off all juice for 10 weeks and I ain't getting fat. Didn't you read the whole post? When I start slin I want to know if I should just keep it at 145 or knock it up some? I'm not some newbie on dieting, I know how to eat for my body. I've competed at 4or 5% and i've hit 250lbs with abs. I've just never had slin for postworkout before or done growth for that matter.

Eating 145g of carbs while not on slin and eating 145g of carbs while on slin is a totally different situation. The same goes for how much fat you eat when not on slin and how much fat you eat while on slin. I thought you said you researched slin. Insulin will deliver most of what you eat straight to your muscles. Almost like amplifying what you eat. Why do you think most diabetics are fat? If you feel you need that many carbs, go ahead, I hope you don't start gaining fat.

I see your point in a sense. Insulin makes my body much more sensative to each calorie i eat. Much more glycogen actually makes it into the muscle cells and fat cells. But if I'm eating 145 now and staying lean, why would it be more likely to turn to fat while on slin and anabolics? I would think that the muscle would acheive a higher level of glycogen compensation than normal and then the liver stores are replaced and fat cells get fed. I understand slin sends carbs to fat cells but where then are my 145 grams of carbs are going now and where they would go if I was on slin. Muscle and liver now and muscle and fat while on slin? Are you saying to eat less carbs than maintainance on slin? That don't sound right. Thanks for you genuine concern over my bodyfat percentage. I hope you don't ever get fat either.

imo your 145 grams is more than enough bro--

if you start to gain abit of fat then back it down a little [100 grams instead of 145]

i think you would be better off with log than r though since your trying to stay lean

log clears your system alot faster

The Hum-R just works out better for my training times during the day. I won't be using much, like 6iu's at the most. It's is just gonna be a little icing on the cake. Anyway, it sounds like my maintainance level should be good enough and I should adjust carbs accordingly as time goes. And always have something onhand just in case. That's all I was wondering. It just freaked me out when I saw most guys only consuming 60 to 80 grams when I already double that. I 've always been a beleiver in that a large portion of daily calories should be eaten before and after workouts. All other meal should be smaller. It's always worked for me.

Some of your carbs are being converted to glucose, the rest you're pissing out. However, on slin, all of your carbs become glucose, and excess blood glucose will result in excess adipose fat tissue accumulation. I don't know if you're being sarcastic, but yea, I don't think you'd want to gain any unnecessary fat.

Altight bro, I gotch ya!! That makes way more sense. I guess if i'm not insulin sensitive to carbs now, I may be pissing some out instead of them going to fat cells. I never read or thought of it that way. Everything I read was pushing the fact that if you don't get your carbs you will die!!! I guess i won't make any changes but just adjust it as I figure out how I react. So I actually may need less carbs on slin, wild. Thanks beef. I wasn't being sarcastic just being dumb.
