  • What to suspend with

    This chems details:
    Solubility:
Freely soluble in Methylene chloride, chloroform sparingly soluble in acetone and in alcohol slightly soluble in ethyl acetate Insoluble in water.

    Molecular Weight : 308.77
    Melting point: about 225° C

I will only get this chem at around 4mg/ml. I am sure 151 or everclear would work to dissolve this. Peg is out of the question-hate taste. Wondering if a vodka or other 60-80 proof liqour would do the trick. Just wondering if there is any way of telling from this info i can dig up? I assume trial & error is what it is going to come down to. But any help would be great! Thx

your data says "sparingly soluble in alcohol; insoluble in water". I doubt 151 will dissolve much and 60 to 80 proof liquor will likely not work at all.

Everclear will work for only low concentrations (4 mgs/mL is likely do-able). PEG will probably work at slightly higher concentrations than everclear; it's hard to say. I'd say your options here are quite limited. What is the chemical?

If you hate the taste of everclear, you could add a flavoring like some crystal light or vanilla extract.
