  • injection sealing?

I watched a video from a nursing program on injections. First of all they used a filtered needle when removing solution from amps in order to filter out any microscopic glass particles. Is this something that is necessary?

Also, the video instructs the would be nurse to pull an air bubble into the syringe for an IM inject. Then, as the solution is injected the air bubble is next to the stopper and after all the solution is injected, the air bubble is also injected to seal the injection somehow. I never heard of doing that.

Another thing i dind't understand is the site they used. I think it was in the gluteus medius but I don't know. Fuck, I'll probably end up killing myself.

glass particles are possible with amps. must be careful when breaking it open. you can inject into the medius.

I've heard of the air buble method before. I have also read that it is a old technique used before they had disposable needles. Ive never injected in the gluteus medius but it seems to be a popular site for nursing. It just seems to be to close to the hip joint for me. Heres an interesting site. http://www.breastcancerprofessional....nc/nursing.pdf

the gluteus medius is the spot in the glutes where you are supposed to inject.

I thought gluteus maximus was the butocks and gluteus medias was the hip. But I was wrong you are suposed to inject in the gluteus medias.

i havent' heard of the air bubble being to seal the injection but i have heard it used as a way to get all the oil out of the pin because there is always some left in the pin if no air bubble is in there, i don't do shots like that but i've heard of it
