No problem. I'm just like you, I was stuck at 175 as of January and have since shot up to 208. I'm stuck here, but I hit my target goal and now it's time to take some time off juice and recover. Not to mention work on my diet even more and also change around my training habits. I know i'll loose a little weight but that's to be expected and it's nothing i'm entirely too concerned with. My answer to you is exactly what's been said in this thread and work on that diet... Food is definitely the most anabolic compound in the world... you'd be surprised how manipulation in your diet can change your body.Originally posted by extreme

Well in your case, taking your recent cycle into consideration, chances are you're holding a decent amount of water, so expect to shred several pounds of water right off the bat. There isn't much you can do about that so you're going to have to deal with it.. chances are though you'll like the way your muscle looks hard vs. soft and full of water.Originally posted by extreme

As for the metabolism question : This is true, but as long as your keeping those cals and protein high, I wouldn't worry about loosing the weight. You'll drop body fat but you won't loose muscle as long as you don't stop working out. Also eating this way, you'll gain LEAN mass... it will take a little while, but as with anything in life patience is a virtue.
You never mentioned anything about PCT once you're completely finished with this cycle. I hope you have that planned out or have already started, because if not, you can expect to loose just about all the muslce and weight you gained regardless of how you eat and train. You're body won't gain sh*t without testosterone!
Good luck bro.Last edited by Deez Nuggets; 08-31-04, 01:54 PM.

An increased metabolism will keep your gains cleaner. Your body will be in a state of increased energy usage. Your body will be utilizing most of what you'll be consuming. Less of your intake will be stored as adipose fat tissue and more utilizied for anabolism. As long as you're feeding your body properly, you won't have to worry about catabolism from glycogen loss.Originally posted by extreme

Please understand where some of us are coming from. We see people on here every day who just don't understand that the drugs aren't the end all be-all of an effective program. The MOST important part of any program is DIET. Without a good diet, you can take 10 grams test a week and only see zero to moderate gains.
There are a few clues here that you don't know what you are doing:
1) You have only gained 20 lbs in 4 cycles. If you were eating and training the way you should be, you would have easily gained that much weight from ONE cycle. I gained 37 lbs on my first cycle alone.
2) You have done 4 cycles inside just one year. Chances are you did not give your body time to recover its natural hormone balance before jumping back on the juice. This could have far reaching implications on your overall health. What has your PCT been like?
3) You appear to have started juicing right off the bat instead of building a good foundation naturally and then using AAS to get over the plateau. NO ONE who weighs 180 lbs and only benches 90 lbs should be juicing. The risk of tendon and ligament injury is too great (you have been lucky). These people usually think the drugs will make up for poor diet and training planning. They also usually end up ripping tendons right and left as their musculature develops past what their tendons can handle.
As others in this thread have said, you need to be eating AT LEAST 250 g protein a day as part of a 4000 cal + a day diet. Keep the carbs moderate and the fat low. The carbs you do eat should be low gycemic index carbs like whole grains, sweet potatos, brown rice, etc. Try a good 45,45,10 diet to gain weight or a 50,30,20 diet to cut up (50% protein, 30% carbs, 20% fat). The fats should include good fats like omega 3's and omega 6's; stay away from trans fats like the plague. When bulking, cut the cardio to a minimum and concentrate on the heaviest weights you can lift with good form for sets of 8. Make sure you target all the muscles in your body once a week to avoid imbalances. Something like: Monday - chest, triceps; Tuesday - legs (quads, glutes, hams, calves); Wednesday - OFF; Thursday - Shoulders, biceps; Friday - Back, abs; Sat. and Sun. - OFF. That is a good four day split that allows for plenty of rest (very important). Get lots of sleep and drink a gallon of water a day. The only supps you really need is a good multivitamin. Others are helpful but not necessary. Creatine, R-ALA, Glucoseamine/Chondroitin, Taurine are all helpful. If you are cutting, do cardio 4 or 5 times a week for 30 minutes. The weight training should be geared more for lighter weights and high volume sets. Do sets of 15 instead of sets of 8.
Yes, it is REALLY hard work to eat all that (at least it is for me) but that is what you have to do if you want to get over your plateau. BTW, your abs should only be worked once or twice a week. You can overtrain them as easily as any other muscle group and then you are hurting more than helping them.

50/30/20 = the caloric breakdown from the different foods your eating. 50 percent of your cals should come from protein, 30 from carbs, 20 from fats.Originally posted by extreme

go use http://www.fitday.com and start logging in everything you eat. get an idea of what your current breakdown looks like (it'll even give you a pie chart that'll show your breakdown for you) and tweak it from there.
and yes, eat brown rice instead of bread. eat oatmeal instead of cereal.

If you are cutting (I assume since you chose my suggestion for a cutting diet), keep your calories down to maintanence or slightly above. Maintanence should be around 12 cals per pound of body weight so a 200 lb guy would need 2400 cals ed to maintain his weight. 50% protein would mean 1200 cals from protein or 300 g protein a day. 30% Carbs means 720 cals or 180 grams carbs a day and 20% fat is 480 cals or 53 g fats. Eat 5 or 6 evenly spaced meals throughout the day. For 5 meals, each meal should be 60 g protein, 36 g carbs, and 10-11 grams fat. You can always eat more protein for filler if you are still hungry. A tuna sandwich with one 6 oz can tuna, 1/2 tbs mayo, 1 slice american cheese and 2 slices potato bread is 44.5 g protein, 26 g carbs, and 19.25 g fat. Too much fat but you can make up for that by eating a no fat meal later in the day. You could also use low fat Mayo. That will cut the fat in half and raise the carbs by some amount. High quality protein shakes can help you with the protein and you can add stuff like orange juice to add enough carbs. SOme fish oil caps can add the needed fats (including omega 3's). Flax oil can also be used. Basically, just start paying attention to the nutritional info on the packages and tailor yourself a diet that is agreeable. One g protein = 4 calories; 1 g carbs = 4 calories; 1 g fat = 9 calories.
