Expiration Dates

I would like to know how important are the expiration dates on gear. Is it okay within 2 months after expiration a year after expiration.

Does it go bad loose its strength?

Does it becomes dangerous to use?

For instance I have a bottle of Cypionate Testosterone from "Rutger Chemische" looks like a german company. A friend had it for a while and gave it to me but did not know if it was any good.
It has been kept in a cool place and the color looks good but the expiration date on the bottle says 01/98.

the only thing that would happen to gear that is old is it would degrade in strength, how much i dont know

Most drugs are good up to a full year past expiration. SIX years may be pushing it though...

The expiration date on a drug is like a guarantee. The company guarantees the product will keep its strength until the expiration date. After that date they can not guarantee the stability or strength of it. With a vial that old, you can try it, but don't get your hopes too high.

Thanks for the info, I thought the strength would degrade, but I wanted to check you guys to make sure. Will definetly make sure I find some more recent test.
